I'd say a slut is a sexual adventurous woman who likes sex but not with you.

A slag is a sexual adventurous woman who has had sex with you but has now moved on.

Personal opinion which differs from many.

Slag: derogatory term for a female, usually used as an insult.

Slut: derogatory term for a female that one has a good opinion of and is currently being sexually adventurous with.

Neither are particularly nice but I guess we rationalise it with different meanings
