My car has packed in and I need another urgently. I've not got a good credit rating. Does anyone know where to get finance from a lender, willing to take the risk?

Have you tried your bank for a small loan or maybe 0% or low interest credit card? A not so perfect credit rating just means you have to prove a little better that you can and will pay it back. Your bank know you best. Try that route before a high interest loan from a website.

Speak to your local credit union maybe? Most will want you to be a member for a couple of months before looking at a loan, but lots of decisions are at their discretion so might be worth explaining the situation and asking. I'm always referring people to credit unions, big fan of them. Hope you get something sorted x

Uff. That’s not the best outcome. However, I really don’t advocate a high interest loan even in desperate times. You see it’s a good idea at the time but the high interest over a long period of time may mean you regret it.

The credit union idea is a marvellous one though. I wish you all the luck x

Uff. That’s not the best outcome. However, I really don’t advocate a high interest loan even in desperate times. You see it’s a good idea at the time but the high interest over a long period of time may mean you regret it.

I've spent over a £1000 on it this year. It's back in garage he said it's electrical or engine gone. Fed up of paying out on it

Try a credit union loan , they don't look at credit ratings they look at how regular you pay in to there savings account.

With a poor rating you’re better off getting a loan from your personal bank that you can then secure to something (like your house) or have a guarantor.

I’d go this route because then you’re not paying through the nose for interest and also gives you 100x more incentive to pay it

I've used AA loans a couple of times and as I don't have a credit card my credit rating is poor...I do own my own home but am self employed...decent rates...give em a try

You can rent monthly from £123 a month milage allowance insurance etc included if you can afford loan repayments can afford rental worth looking into x

Just seen this tread. I know a mechanic who is very reasonable and sells great cheap cars too.

I bought mine for £300 and expected it to last maybe just over a year or so.. 6 years now and it's still fine.
