Travelling down a busy road you look out the window and see your younger self stood at a bus stop.

Would you stop and get out to have a word with yourself?

Or would you pass on by,and if so why?

"I would stop and have a word."

What would you say, and do you think you'd listen?

Yes.

I'd say, don't go to the shop on the day I got run over.

I'd say, do a degree rather than a HND.

I'd say, don't accept a friend request on Facebook from an (now) ex.

If you meet yourself in two different times, your future is changed. It explains it in every film that includes time travel.

Based on this....yes I would talk to me

I'd be tempted, but I also remember what a stubborn cow I was, so I wouldn't have listened.

However, I probably would have listened with a feigned interest to the crazy old lady giving me life advice.

Manchester (she/her)

I don't think she'd listen, but I'd give her a big hug, tell her that she's fine, whole, and enough just as she is. And that everything would be OK, just keep chipping away.

I’m not sure. But if I did decide to say anything to myself it would be ‘keep off the funny fags as otherwise you’ll end up hallucinating about seeing your younger self at bus stops later in life” ..

The obvious dilemma would be whether to avoid my ex wife (who was violent) though then I wouldn't have my gorgeous kids.

Without doubt I would've dragged my sister to that check up two years earlier, not when it was too late.

I sure would get out and say I know exactly where you’re going on that bus and who you’re going to see and he’s so not worth your bus fare love. Bin him off he will damage your soul and destroy your self confidence which will lead to even worse choices. Oh and keep all your band t-shirts and vinyl records - they will come back into fashion and be worth a bob or two

Ah I’d definitely stop me. Tell me I look pretty and never to doubt it. Tell me that the eyebrows are overplucked, show me my future brows and that I need to start working on them stat.

I’d also tell me to get my arse to uni. Holiday camps may be fun but a career it ain’t. Oh. Then I’d tell me I was pretty again.

I did the holiday camp thing and waited 30 odd yrs to do the uni thing.. it was all the best way around for me

I'd want to stop and talk to myself and try and change the outcome of some of my decisions.

But wouldn't that just give me possible new different bad experiences?

Actually I don't think I would stop. I'm not sure that at whatever point in my life time line it would be a good idea to divert or change because although thereafter there was always crap moments there was also good which wouldn't happen if I took a different path!

Yep. I’d tell them that all those things that inhibit you are a result of others imposing an outmoded and unfounded belief system based on you. Do all those things you would love to do but are scared to do, because of that belief system. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

Not sure I would want to confuse my younger self by telling them what was to come....

And if I did, whether my younger self would try to change it...

And maybe instead of making it better made it worse...

Or if maybe it would be a way to make dreams come true...

Yes I think he would. He had a healthy respect for the authority of those he considered mentors. If he knew one of his key mentors would now echo that sentiment he would act on the advice in a heartbeat.
