Sounds to me I think she knows your there for more if she drops her barriers.

Having been there very similar story, I’d tell her how you feel, be honest, and if she’s shocked but a true friend it will stay as friends.

If she’s thought about you as more, she’ll maybe go a bit further, but it will be her move.

You might not be physical ever but she could be a great friend.

Just be honest , I did with a friend it went nowhere we are still just friends but I basically said look it's the

** WHAT IF ** .. I

I explained I had to know otherwise the what if was going to eat me away , I expressed my feelings and said .. look I don't want this to change our friendship but as a friend I feel I have to be totally honest with you I said look let's not let this change us as friends I don't want any awkwardness or clamming up into shells .. let's just continue as we were , as if I never mentioned this to you .. like I said it's the what if .. and I don't wanna live with regrets YOLO .. but my friend didn't have the same feelings for me so we just agreed to draw a line in the sand .. we both know where we stand now and even though the outcome was not what I wanted I felt so much better and also became closet as friends as now I know I can express and speak to my friend about anything without being judged .. it's a great feeling .. just be yourself and be honest , you gotta be honest and just a real person , remember if they are a true friend they will accept and understand the WHAT IF ..

I know this is reversed, but don’t let that happen.
