If you've not already read it, the Tattooist of Auschwitz is interesting. I'm a big fan of Tracy Borman for biographies.

Fiction wise, Kate Mosse has some great books around French religious wars. Conn Iggulden's Wars of the Roses series is good too.

At the moment I’m reading about the boer war and before that was ‘the floating brothel’ about women being transported to Australia. X

Dan Jones has a really fluent style - he draws out the stories in the events he's writing about!

I am working my way through "History Of The Russian Revolution" by Leon Trotsky. Nearly a thousand pages long so not a quick read, but a very rewarding one if you like historical accounts.
