The way I see it is you have 2 issues here OP.

Firstly fab isn't the almighty fuck fest you seem to think it is, alter your expectations of the site a bit.

Secondly I have actually met you at a club and you are a lovely guy. However afterwards you bombarded me with messages and it was all just a bit too much. You came across as far too pushy which is a massive turn off. Try toning thing down a few notches and people may be a little bit more receptive towards you.

Fab is ultimately what you make it - if you expect too much from it and have the wrong attitude and approach then it will be frustrating and probably lead you to call it a bag of shite.

Set your expectations correctly, have the right approach and attitude and be prepared to watch and listen as well as make an effort with both your profile, pictures and things like getting involved in the forums, and getting along to clubs and socials and it can be a lot of fun and very fulfilling.

There are no guarantees of course and for some people no matter what they do it may not meet their expectations, but for a lot it can be a great place to be with some truly warm and wonderful people to be found.

Agreed - I think the trouble is, because of the ratios, and the number of single men with wrongly set expectations, attitude and approach you only tend to hear about the hard luck stories and the perception of how hard it is - those that have a great experience of the site, or even those whose expectations it meets, don't tend to shout about it, just quietly go about their Fab business.

I've often thought that whilst there IS an imbalance of single guys to single women/couples profiles on here, that if you take out the guys who don't get the site, who have the wrong expectations, approach and attitude that the numbers are probably a lot more evenly balanced - and it's there that you find people of all categories that are happy and like the site for whatever they use it for

I don't know that it's hard as a single guy really. I've been on here quite a while off and on, and when I was in the UK more often it was never a problem to have a thing or two simmering away here, much as it wasn't a problem to just go out into town and meet somebody that way in a more vanilla sense.

There are some people who would struggle to get to know a potential partner under either of those circumstances, and in those cases 'on here' isn't the root of the problem.

I think what Fab needs (in addition to verifications) is an ebay style feedback/reputation system. Positive, negative and neutral ratings with comments which are automatically published but with a team of moderators to handle any disputes (retaliatory negative ratings, for example would be stomped upon).

People might think twice about wasting time or being disrespectful if they have a visible reputation to uphold.

Wouldn’t be perfect and would require some investment of time by moderators, but might go some way to improving the otherwise no consequence behaviour which sours the site for many people.

As for the site .

It’s not the fault of the site that it’s shit . It’s the proliferation of timewaters , fakes , pic collectors , posers and wannabes that make fab a less than fab experience .

Anyone who comes onto the forums to say it’s hard to get meets , or post that they have been let down , get the regulars in here blaming the poster every time . What a joke that is !

They get told to look at themselves , their selection procedure , that they are foolish expecting to get a meet easily , that they should have a social first ( though god knows why that would make any difference ) , etc....

Without any question , the site has become hard work because of the people that use it .

Best thing to do ?

Get out into the real world , the pub or a club , and chat with people . It’s so much easier to get what you want face to face with real people and not keyboard warriors and freaks .

Try it , we have , some six months ago now . And guess what , we have way more fun now
