What about the guy jailed for life over there for being a spy, when he was a student doing research. I dont see the attraction with visiting these places that have shit human rights and judicial systems. It seems you can get locked up on the say so of those in power for next to nothing and theres not a thing you can do about it. I wouldnt dream of going to any place like this as i would be forever paranoid incase i had a beer 2 foot away from where its allowed, or bumping into a lady and accused of sexual contact. I know folk who go but not for me

Yes. I've been to uae on stopover a few times.

I wouldn't want to stay in a Muslim country.

The Arabs in that country were telling me "this is the Amsterdam of arabia"

Well they can fuck off because I prefer south east Asians and japanise type culture rather than theirs.

It is scary, I used to look after a little girl, she was the product of a one night stand in Dubai.

Mum was English, a teacher over there, the authorities found out and wanted to imprison her for sexual activity out of wedlock, the UK embassy managed to arrange her deportation

All societies are defined by their dominant culture and while a political entity can govern a state where there is more than one society, as in India,no society within such a small state such as UK can accommodate more than one dominant culture,the emphasis being on culture not race or ethnic origin our race is unchangeable but our culture is a matter of choice the Saudis are one culture they don't accept ours if you go there you risk your liberty as you do in any Muslim state

I've no interest in going to any of those countries, regardless of how glossy they look on the surface. It's a shame as there are a lot of historical ruins and stunning places I'd love to explore there, but it's just not worth the risk. Some of them I couldn't go to even if I wanted to due to work.

fair obviously in their eyes our laws allow a certain amount of humane flexibility, I really don't know if he's innocent or guilty I only know of ridiculous situations friends have been put in living in Muslim countries just for financial gain, these things don't just happen in Muslim countries I recall a spying thing being pinned on a few British plane spotters years ago who were stupidly taking pictures of military aircraft and actually got 3/4 year prison sentences.

Don't blame them for locking him up. His own fault he knew how strict the country is and still did it. He also knew if he got caught he would end up in prison. I do hope he doesn't get a pardon to get free.

Which is why anyone who enters these country's that are strict if they get caught doing someything illegal they shouldn't get free. Still see idots posting meets in Dubai.

I'm in the middle of overseas research in a foreign language right now, and it's going fine. You hire a translator as an intermediary and crack on. It's not ideal but it's ridiculous to think it unworkable.

At the rate things are going here if you bump into a woman soon it'll be considered a crime.. Look at that girl who rendered a bouncer unconscious by c*oking him after she wrongly thought he had pinched her bum.. Things are getting way out of hand.. Yes I agree women need to protect themselves but so do men..
