reading some of the comments on a lot of the threads on here i find that there are a lot of negative attitudes and a lot pettyness which goes on. As a the new year draws ever closer who would agree with me that it would be a good idea to be more supportive of fellow memebers on here?

there is a huge amount of support on this site when there is a genuine need for it as a lot of regular forumites will know ...there just not a lot of support for the whinging threads and rightly so in my opinion ..FAB is a FAB site as long as you treat it for what it is ...i know its helped me through some tough times and long may that continue and ive made some greatfriends here to (not just for SEX )

but wouldnt life be a little dull in this utopia you speak of the negative remarks could be what they believe. and the pettyness well it makes good reading lol long ma we all be different and all the best for the new year

I think there is a lot of support for those who need it. People who use the forums are a great bunch of people, yes you will get the odd one that is full of negativity but thats life.

I have made some wonderful friends in the forums and some of them will be life long friends (nout to do with the sex). As it has been said before you get what you putinto it, and that is so true.

Only if you can remove every Thursday from the week as that seems to be the worst day for bringing out all the 'nastiness'. And I think I've worked out why, its because people have been at work and maybe think, will the weekend never come? Its the day before the last day where people can say, thank god its Friday, just a thought though

I've made some great friends on here, some I will never ever meet other than the conversations we have here in the forums or in PMs.

Yes there are some people that I don't like and that don't like me. So just do what you would do in 'real' life. Walk away, would you deliberately taunt someone in the outside world, I don't think so.

I agree that there is a lot of wingeing, a lot of sarcastic comments and indeed a lot of support too in these forums.

I reckon I'm as guilty as anyone in posting all three types of threads, but as an adult, you have to learn to have or to at least adapt a thick skin.

One of the things that can guarantee a sarcastic attack on the OP is when they ask for support or advice, and then don't take any notice of it.

These are public forums, in as much as the "public" here are registered site members and they come from all corners of the personality spectrum, so you really should expect responses as wide and varied as your immagination will go.

The best response to an "uncomfortable" thread is the "view forum threads" button.

You don't have to read the responses, just as you don't have to respond to them, but just remember, you have just as much right to do so as you do not to.

would agree and add that by and large not the usual 'crowd' that most people day to day live, work and socialise with..

also sometimes this 'media' will allow some to 'hide' whom they are, bit like second life..

easy to behave differently and say things you would not normally do in real life when you cant be seen for some...

We should never forget that Fab is just a portal, we are seeing real peoples honest views and opinions without the need for them to be overly polite because of the non face to face nature of the Internet.

Some people are insecure, negative or rude. That's just life. Take on board what you will and past by what's not for you.

2012 won't see a change in people being people. Look for the positive and you will find it.

to the OP and others who think there isn't a lot of support on this site, you don't know what goes on behind the public forums, we have certainly felt the love and support of friends during what has been a particularly difficult year for us. However, the encouragement we have received means we are going in to 2012 with renewed vigour and a detgermination to make it the start of the best period of our lives.

I agree to a large extent but I am finding most posts one sided.

I am going to add that there are a lot of people about who simply choose to be offended. For some they think it gives them the moral high ground or wins a sympathy vote.

If someone is offended so what? No one dies because they can't agree.

There is an art to discussion. A lot of people never learn how to discuss they simply object to what they read or hear by saying 'that's so rude' ....

Learn the skill of argument, lower the ego - it helps.

The trick is to treat this part of your life as fun and do not take it seriously. As a single guy I get lots of non responses and couples that extract the urine when it comes to meeting. Just shrug it off and smile. People take the life style far too seriously and see it as a mission when it should be an small part of your existance. A wise grand lady from FAB (who will remain nameless!!!) once said to me if you spend more than an hour per day on the site then you are one of those whose life is contained around it. Seems to me she was right. To all reading I wish you a peaceful, healthy and happy 2012!

i have to agree...when ppl really need help this is a great place to be,just a couple of days ago someone was clearly depressed, he got lots of positive advice and support.

i have seen outpourings of support when ppl loose family members, jobs, are ill, or just having a bad time.

If the Op wants us all to turn into mindless nodding dogs, agreeing with every whining poster who needs to MUFF then sorry, it isnt going to happen...thank god, it wouldn't help the posters and would make the forum very dull indeed.

but the problem is that for some people telling it as it is may be seen as negativity...

sometimes sugarcoating stuff isn't really going to help,and fluff makes a situation worse.... sometime a dose of "reality" is what people need to help

the other side of things is that on occasions people only want to hear what that want to hear......
