Making time / prioritising swinging

Do you guys enjoy swinging but also have other social commitments and hobbies away from this life?

We both love sex and hence we dip into swinging and will do clubs, private parties and meets. Sometimes we will play once or twice a month and often we will leave it for longer - even a year plus. (We’ve been swinging for six years).

We both compete and play different sports and train 5 times plus a week. We also have young children and vanilla friends who all take up our free time. This isn’t including work commitments and boring chores such as shopping, ironing, bills etc.

I often see couples who swing in this lifestyle on a weekly basis and don’t understand how this is possible unless your social life also revolves around it?

Do you want to swing regularly like we do but struggle with the time? We also feel that if we swing on a Saturday then Sunday is often wiped out, which is unfair on our children who deserve our time.

Maybe there is a loose definition of occasional swingers and those invested in terms of their social lives?

I think we all find our own level after a while - know when I first stepped into *this* world (as part of the couples profile I am a member of) that we were like the proverbial kids in a sweet shop initially and every spare weekend was spent visiting clubs and other activities were forgotten - well past that stage now and things are more balanced in one way or another.

We hear you!

It’s the same for us. Just making time for each other besides swinging is hard enough. A balance to be had for sure. With home, work, kids. Etc.

I (L) have come to the realisation that if an opportunity arises and it fits then great. But not going out looking for play time now.

I completely agree with the OP.I try and meet every couple of weeks but that doesn't work out sometimes.

Even though I live on my own I have family that need visiting and looking after. I run my own business which regularly takes seven days a week and I'm very competitive in a sport that is expensive and takes most of my free time.

It's difficult to find time for sex and when I do it's usually unexpected, arranged quickly as I've found a couple of hours spare and it's always good fun.

Yes, this totally. I have a life, what some people call a vanilla life, though I'm not a fan of that term, where there's things going on at weekends, my family are quite close so I'm with them regularly. Fitting this swinging life in is tough sometimes.

It's catch 22 sometimes, when I do have time like I did recently, I didn't have other resources, now I have the resources but don't have time!

And even if I did have a swinging partner, I don't think I'd like to live my life being ruled by swinging and meets. Once is a while would be fine with me.

Definitely agree. We see Fab and swinging as an occasional indulgence that is the "cherry on top" of a great sex life. We dip in when we can and feel like it.

We quite like hanging out in the forums, writing stories though which for some seems to confuse them - they assume if we're actively on here that we're actively looking which is often not the case. And many who say they're happy to wait till we can, tend to lose interest. It's slightly frustrating but understandable I guess - while we're not time wasters, we don't want to waste their time either, if that makes sense.

But my social calendar is limited as is, because generally if I’m not out at a club or meeting it’s because I’m working

My Fab meets are very limited : I can probably muster one a month on average, sometimes it’s longer than that and other times I might be able to do two. I’m never spontaneous- things need to be planned. For example I already have a meet scheduled for mid February, still a quarter of a year away!

So like you OP it’s much fitted around ‘normal life’ not the other way around.

Swinging is not a priority for me. I enjoy what I enjoy every now and again as opposed to filling my social free time with meets. This site only compliments and fulfils certain desires and fantasies and nothing more. And I've really enjoyed those I've shared those times with.

I could go months without arranging anything.

I'm fulfilled away from this site, sexually and socially and I see what happens here as a very naughty bonus.
