Didn't realise I posted in the "wrong" place, so thought I'd resubmit in the Lounge for a larger audience and hopefully more insight.

What is the Obsession with cake on here? I don't get it, please enlighten me, Ladies, as I'm genuinely confused.

Gents, I know your obsession is just trying to ingratiate yourself with the ladies, I get that.

Not true.

I fuccking love cake, it's replaced any affection I had for other sweet things as I got older.

My daughter made me a banana bread to bring with her this weekend....

You wouldn’t make a sandwich with it so I think it’s cake, just comes in a loaf shape.xx

I just googled it and it definitely says ‘banana bread is in fact bread not cake and anyone who disagrees doesn’t know what time it is’

Oh and to answer the OP I’ve no idea why but I concur with the general consensus that cake is life. I’m currently trying to cut out sugar and constantly crave some cakey goodness

Hillside desolate

I don't get it either. Don't get me wrong i like a French fancy now and again, but it does seem to come up a lot more on here than it would in general conversation.

There's just something about cake. Bad day? Cake will fix it. Peckish? Bit of cake. On a diet?fuck it carrot cake is surely one of your 5 a day? Women's pain? Cake. All of the cake. (Oh and some more just for good measure)

I made banana bread last week.

It has the same ingredients as cake, same method, same baking style.

If you leave it out it goes stale the same way cake does- therefore it's cake.

Apart from here the only time I hear about cake is if it's someone's birthday at work!
