Having a goal in mind to save for helps, easy to lose motivation when saving with no goal in mind

There and to the left a bit

Never have enough to save as such but am aware of how to make money go further by using things like voucher codes and being aware of some of the sharp practices employed by supermarkets to part you with your money etc.

If you have debt StepChange is really helpful, they are a charity. Their website has handy tips or you can ring for advice.

East Sussex

Shop in Aldi.

Wear warm clothes indoors and turn the heating down

Eat less meat.

It's really difficult to tell someone how to save money if you don't know what they're spending it on.

Set up a direct debit for the same day your salary goes in to your bank to a separate bank account.

I went on that money saving expert dot com and changed my utilities supplier and recently remortgaged my house and borrowed alittle extra to pay off credit cards and loans at a nice 1.9%. Saved me a couple of 100 a month

It's good for you to know what you are spending your money on op, so break your monthly expenditure by all categories. Just knowing where you are at specifically is a great step to help you move forward. Look at what could be reduced to give you most leeway - things that you aren't contractually obligated to. These things could potentially be reduced immediately, if you make some sacrifices.

Costs you are committed to may also be things that could be reduced, with the right approach. These will give you savings in the medium to longer term.

Consider what talents or assets you may have that could raise money too.
