Have we become a lazy species?

With the age of voice command odd bots (Amazon Echo for example), that can control lights and other things around the house, even finding things on the inter web while we just sit on our comfy couches, driverless cars (still can’t see the reason this technology is being developed myself), are we just happy to sit back and voice control everything around us with having to lift a finger?

Yes but it's not a trait limited to just humans. Most animals seek the most energy efficient ways of doing things be that stealing mates, nests food etc.

Oh yes very very happy. Why should I get up and walk to the kitchen to preheat the oven and then walk back to sit down when I can just do it from my phone .

no, we've always been a lazy species that's why we spend a lot of time inventing ways to make life easier. I for one don't want to go back to washing my clothes by bashing them on a stone and walking miles to get water.

I'm old enough to remember when TV's didn't have remotes and people had to get off their arses to change the channel.

There were only 4 channels back then, so not much point in turning the TV over.

I was really fat once.

Was because I was working long dehydrating stressfull hours for years.

Now I find it easy to exercise daily.

I lift weights or jog 6 mile in a morning.

I go swimming on Thursdays

And mauy thai on Tuesdays and thursdays

You don't see the point of driverless cars?

The obvious point is to employ less people and make more profit... driverless busses, taxis and lorries are where it's heading.

There is without a doubt a safety benefit, especially if the cars can communicate with each-other, but it's mainly about the money.

Personally, yes we are becoming lazy.. At this rate food will come in tablet form, we wont need legs to walk, even our brain seems to be numbing... Ok extreme but i have ptsd and the only time i m really fully squared away is when i m busy... Either in my work, or cooking or making... I think, personal opinion, that the increase in time on our hands has led to an increase in stress, anxiety, boredom etc.. The brain is the finest computer around but it needs feeding....
