The thing to remember about the forums, is that they are much bigger than just those who post.

I’ve said this before that I get a great deal of messages from lurkers, who have never posted a thing in the forums, but have wanted to agree or thank me for my posts.

You shouldn't need anyone's acceptance, you have every right to use the forums, just do what I do and inflict yourself on the threads that tickle your pickle.

Stay away from Drama Llamas and Hot or not type attention seeking threads, and all be reet.
