Maybe its a guy thing, maybe not.

The scene.....

Night in alone, beers in(or other tipple) music on....

Do you find you can have enough entertainment with you music collection alone ?

Once started i can get in the zone when the music flows and you drift through your music collection from track to track, artist to artist etc

Didnt know if i was alone in this.

Thoughts are all welcome

Not just a guy thing. I love a trip down memory lane with music. Memories of seeing bands live, pivotal moments in my life I associate with different songs. Lots of different memories that take me back in time x

Music is my filing cabinet. I process all my memory through music, I'm sure most have heard the term 'mind palace' well for me the music creates just that. You can forget simple things in life but once you know song lyrics you don't forget them. Keeps me on my toes.

Being of a certain vintage I like to play the music / album from start to finish

Guess back to my vinyl years where it was a pain in the arse to keep changing ( just once every 20 mins !)

Lots of music is great this way. Can't pursuade my kids to do this though

Lots to relax to in the prog & psych genres

It's a regular thing for me, got music through the house and the workshop, have it all ripped to the computer these days, though I still buy the CD and rip it myself.

Apparently it would take 54 days to play my entire collection, but some of it is pants, no idea what got into my head when I was in my 20's...

Nice thing is on a memory evening I can now save the playlist, and put it on next time I am in the workshop.

You need to check your amp inputs, even if they don't match you can usually put it via a preamp with compatible input and output for the deck, av amp you have.

it's gone back to court because of some shady shinanigans by the led zep defence lawers that has caused the last ruling to be unlawful

Theyll always be on my playlist regardless, and my arm lol ive images from led zep iv as a half sleeve

dude ... i own a full house of zep vinyl on original releases .... they still lifted tons of material from others mind ... most notably bert jansch

Oh my lordy lord! I really do want to reply with words to that, but can't stop smiling. I am going to need help from my friends to show my reaction.

In this order:

Finally cheeky Mr Green always has a few words to say...

This is for all the fellow social fabbers out there. I have been to a few organised social events in safe clubs now. Even though I go alone and leave alone I am never alone.

As a lifelong music lover, hardly a day goes by without putting something on to play, vinyl or CD.

I have 3 friends that are also well into music, usually we have a "Curry, Music and Beer night about once a month. So you can imagine the scene, 4 old blokes downing Bathams and wine at a rate of knots, listening to Sade, Led zep, Supertramp or whatever...............then shoveling a curry down late at night along with what's left of the beer and wine

Looking forward to the next one

"Maybe its a guy thing, maybe not.

"

I'm slowly playing my entire cd collection one at a time. From early blur singles to heavy metal magazine cds! And everything in between!

Years ago, me and a girlfriend used to play a game where she'd call out a series of random numbers that corresponded to shelf, CD and track number. It was a great way of listening to a music collection and threw up some interesting mixes of artist and genre.

Now we have Spotify to do this stuff.
