What Do You Love About Christmas?

Inspired by a post in the "Advent" thread!

I love this time of year, I wander around the shops looking at all the expensive box sets, those in which the total contents worth are only worth 1/4 of the box set price because after Christmas you can get them cheaper than total contents worth...oh, oh, oh!

Everything! I love all the lights and the Christmas trees. Everything is pretty. Wrapping presents, glitter! Christmas markets. I like to sit in my lovely home with those I love with only the Christmas lights on and music, just chatting together.

I enjoy all the Christmassy things like going to a Carole service. I enjoy going to church on Christmas Eve. Christmas gatherings with friends.

I have the best time with my family and my friends. No stress or hassle, just fun and relaxation. Games! The games are so much fun ... choose your time for monopoly though!

Christmas morning all together, laughter, warm fuzzy feelings. Watching those you love get pleasure (and in some cases lots of laughter) from gifts. Christmas stockings for everyone.

I love Christmas films. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bing singing Christmas songs.

Christmas dinner! Boxing Day games and friends.

I could go on all day. I just love it. It’s not about shopping and presents and stress, it’s about togetherness, love, relaxation and fun.

It really is a wonderful time of year

Christmas Eve is always exciting to see what method of catching Santa my daughter does. Last year I had what can only be described as trip wire attached to her bed posts going across the room, tied to desk legs and connected to bells. Plus the iPad recording her sleep, have to snipe crawl through the room to collect her stocking.

Other than that it’s tje Xmas eve box, the watching films, watching her open presents, the dinner and just general kicking back with the family.

I love everything about Christmas except the actual day.

My house looks so pretty with twinkly lights, we snuggle up with candles and watch films, making the effort to spend time with friends and family, Christmas markets where everyone is in a happy mood while shopping.

We celebrate Yule so the feasting starts early and by Christmas day we are ready to spend the day in pjs, eating cold cuts and playing with the kids all day.

We celebrate the season rather than the money grabbing commercialised side of Christmas
