Is life just a dream?

Where do you stand on this question?

Personally I'm on the fence but lean towards it being a dream. I think, either way, a lot of one's life is determined by one's state of mind. Hmmm

I think the question you SHOULD ask is: is this our dream or someone elses'?

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide. No escape from reality.

"Have you been on the sauce sweetheart?"

If by "sauce" you mean shiraz, you beautiful beautiful example of the female example of a woman and I should know I'm a palaeontologist so I'm used to extrapolating whole dinosaur species from a single ankle bone so extrapolating your gorgeousnessness from your legs alone is small fry... small fry? small fries and a pickled onion please. Now where was I before I was so rudely interrupted? hic

(Hey nonny ding dong, alang, alang, alang

Boom ba-doh, ba-doo, ba-doodle-ay)

Oh, life could be a dream

If I could take you up in paradise up above

If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love

Live could be a dream, sweetheart

Oh, life could be a dream

If only all my precious plans would come true

If you would let me spend my whole life lovin' you

Life could be a dream, sweetheart

Now every time I look at you

Something is on my mind

If you do what I want you to

Baby, we'd be so fine

Oh, life could be a dream

If I could take you up in paradise up above

If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love

Life could be a dream, sweetheart

Sh-boom sh-boom, ya-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da

Sh-boom sh-boom, ya-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da

Sh-boom sh-boom, ya-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da sh-boom

Sh-boom sh-boom, ya-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da

Somewhere In The Ether…

A dream within a dream according to Edgar Allan Poe (who may incidentally, very much in line with his source genre, have been an actual murderer - random fact there for the hell of it)

So if we are dreaming now, what are doing when we are actually dreaming. And if we are all dreaming, is there a collective consciousness ?

This crossed my mind years ago, you have to take a leap of faith that everyone else is real.

Your life is your state of mind, it's called schema. If you've ever looked into psychology you can see that people have different states of mind all the time. The ones that dominate will be called your personality.

If you're dreaming then where did your dreams/ideas/thoughts come from?

There's solipsism which asserts that the whole thing is an illusion of our own making. Then there's idealism which suggests that we exist within someone else's dream. I lean towards idealism as I don't really get the strong sense that right now I'm conjuring up the illusion of Theresa May's pyjamas So somebody else is doing that

Where's the East Barnsley solipsism massive? Not in the house tonight? Represent guys!! Don't leave me hanging... you bunch of fictional entities

dream the life and live the dream. it is both created and co-created and it would take probably a good weekend to talk as to why i believe that, on the subject. but experience tells me so, in brief x

Now i'm thinking of teresa may in pyjamas....yes someone else caused that thought.

You know what though? Most people don't even know themselves, i'm not entirely sure about myself either.

Today a young man on acid realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration , that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively , there is no such thing as death , life is only a dream , and we are the imagination of ourselves .
