My friend told my daughter that a Rhino is just a fat unicorn and now she wants one.

If you could have any animal as a pet what would you pick?

I’ve even looked into it, unfortunately it’s easier to legally own a gun than it is an owl.

I'm only looking after the cute animals though. We need people to look after the boring or scary ones.

Oh!! I will train some sealions and we can put on a show!

Friends run an animal orphanage in Kenya and I have been lucky enough to play with orphaned “unicorns” and elephants - they are as cute as can be. I would love to have one as as a pet, however there is logistical problems as the grow up!

"I want an Alpaca, they're just such bizarre looking things "

We visited a tourist trap for 'protecting' the 'orphan' alpaca in Peru, they are the sweetest, cheekiest, softest woolly jumpers you could meet. Eyes to melt your heart.

I'm sure you could meet one if not own one yet - lots farmed for wool around our county and Derbyshire.

Genuinely curious...no bitchiness meant, but, do they have personalities ? Can you “read” them like a dog or a cat? Do/can you pet them? How do they show they like it ?

I don’t have the experience with other tortoises to compare but this one is just lovely. I can’t read her yet. She likes to wind up the dogs by running into them. She doesn’t really like being picked up. She will wriggle and try and claw her way out of your grip. She’s hella strong for a little thing. She absolutely loves her bed and her food. She loves her chin being tickled and is happy to sit on my lap. She prefers my daughter though. She’s very nocturnal and has taken to running around her pen knocking on the sides with her shell until the wee small hours.

Probably not the most entertaining pet but I adore her little wrinkly face

i don’t know about tortoises but both my turtles had different personalities. One would swim up to me and eat out of my hand happily, he’d let me pick him up and play with him. The other one though, doesn’t eat turtle food...he prefers to hunt and eat fish and frogs, He hisses at me and claws his away out of my hands if I pick him up.
