What are you holding on to you should let go of ?

Good morning Friends Fabbers and Forumites.

It's another autumnal Monday morning . A new week and a blank page , fresh and new on to which you can write your story .

Pooch and I have just topped up the bird feeders . We are watching the host of feathered friends who have descended for a feed .

The garden is strewn with leaves , the trees letting go of things they no longer need .

It got us thinking .

What are we going on to that we should let go of ?

For me it's past memories that once made me smile but can now make me a tad glum.

So chums our question is

What are you holding on to that you should let go of ?

Taff and Pooch xx

Poor body image. I've had CBT for it, which has helped a lot. But I wish i could just let it completely go. It does impact my life and self esteem a little more than it should.

I had very similar issues and mindfulness helped me so very much .

Girl your body is bloody beautiful! I've always wanted to have a more womanly figure and feel more like "a real woman". I've also suffered with body confidence issues since a young age and I've always been quite slim. Well done you for going through CBT aswell.

Two things really.

Being bullied, prolonged, intense, targeted bullying. My experiences are always in there somewhere.

My mistrust of doctors. I get no pleasure from saying it and I wish it was different but it can’t be at this point in time.

Friends, I have a couple that I really should let go. I do everything to help them but they don't bother ringing or chatting to me. I'm too soft though, that's my problem

My car It's 13 years old and it's starting to show signs of wear and tear, I've loved it over the years and bought it from an ex boss who sadly died in a light aircraft crash last year, there's an emotional tie there i think but it really should go

Your post made me smile OP.

I'm having a major declutter.

Finally threw away a box of video tapes last week, that have moved house with me twice!

Clearing drawers this morning.

Getting there gradually, moving in the right direction.

I know it’s hard to convince yourself you have a great body when your self esteem and mind tells you otherwise and few knocks in life make it even harder no matter how many people tell you look good

But for what it’s worth I looked at your photos and you look stunning I am only sorry I live in the wrong part of Wales for you

A wise man once said, “If you have low self esteem practice esteem full things every day”

And for me there are a few things in my past I should just let go of but I let them run around my head from time to time

Mindfulness does help

I find mindfulness helps me greatly .

It stops me focusing on the past , or worrying about the future .

After all the two days which you have no control over are yesterday and tomorrow .

I don't worry about what other people think, I can't mind read and most of the time other people have their own anxieties which they keep hidden .

I'm more compassionate with myself , be as compassionate with yourself as you are with others .

Negative thoughts, about yourself or your life . They rise and fall and you are the own author of your life , if you don't like the story , change it.

People will always judge you , its human nature, but try not to judge yourself and you will find younwill stop judging others too. Let them have their hang ups and problems , don't let them project that on to you.

I know these seem a tad simplistic and life is never ever simple chums.

Have a peep at mindfulness friends , as for the leather pants , sorry I can't help so try eBay

Hiding in the shadows

Emotional issues, due to past life experiences.

But I don't class that as a bad thing, in fact the opposite.

Some barriers will never come down.

It keeps me safe & stops me from ever getting hurt again.

I got treated very very badly by one of my parents. It affected me for 30 years until I finally sought help for my mental health. I joined the army at 16 to get away from home and the years of physical and mental abuse I suffered. I’ve been through tons and tons of therapy sessions and I’m feeling great then all of a sudden something will trigger it and I’ll be a nervous wreck all over again. I hate how it makes me feel and just wish I could rid myself of the feelings it gives me. 99.9% of the time I’m happy and free from it.

...Up on the Downs

I've just mentally let go of the business that made me dread monday mornings.....I've decided I'm gonna spend the rest of my working life doing something I really look forward to!!

Unless they give me that job with the huge salary I applied for, then I might bite my lip for a year or two more and cry all the way to the bank....
