It’s nearly here... I’m very excited....

Is anyone else? I’m not sorry I’m upsetting grumpy people...

But- we’ve got a new calendar this year where we can put small things inside...

I have a few ideas-

keep them naughty

Kind gestures

Chocolates

Booze

If you were to have an ideal calendar what would be in each ‘window’?

Eeeeek x

..

I like all things Christmassy in my advent calendar. None of this makeup, alcohol etc malarkey. I would like either a glittery, snowy scene or a chocolate Santa

I'm really old-fashioned and miss the strictly traditional calendars with the baby Jesus in a manger behind the final door. I'm not religious but am sorry that the original Christmas message has been lost. It's not all about guzzling food and getting expensive presents

For me it’s about time off work and being able to catch up with my family and friends. As for the mass consumerism I set a budget and stick to it. I find that there’s more thought put into a few gifts totalling £50 than a huge spending spree.

Exactly. If I’m going to get myself into debt then I’d rather that it was on something like a car or a holiday. Not a jumper and pair of PJ’s.

Some great suggestions

Agree that it’s not about gift giving- more about memories made and sharing time together. Taken me a few years to realise this.

But I love the memories of a calendar as a kid- yes- it was a small chocolate one - but I think I like the idea of a kinky message written, a love poem, a promise made all wrapped around a little treat of something eg a choccie, a candle/ bath oil, a small bottle of gin/ beer, pair of pants....

all cheap and cheerful and things I would normally buy day to day anyway....

P.S anyone who can get hold of the Jo Malone one for me and get Santa to drop it off would be gratefully appreciated ( wowsers! What a luxury!)

You can get ones to put your own gifts in. I like this idea. You could write things on notes for each day maybe.
