I had it done about 10 years ago and while it didn’t stop my periods completely it did lighten them a lot. Definitely recommend it. I can’t remember too much pain after it. X

I had it done over 20 years ago.

Best thing ever, after years of long and heavy periods.

A little discomfort for a week or so after.

Then it was upwards and onwards.

Have never looked back.

I had it done the day after I turned 40!

Welcome to your 40’s the consultant said lol

2 months later I was being given blood transfusions, 2 months after that I had a life saving hysterectomy.

It’s swings & roundabouts how it will go, the procedure was fine for me. Not too much pain afterwards.

Just be prepared that it might not fix it sweet x

I had it done 3 years ago. It didn't help my bleeding at all. I've tried everything at this stage and am planning on a hysterectomy in the coming months. It's what my consultant is recommending at this stage.

Is this the last option before a hysterectomy for you?

I got my life back after mine, can’t believe the difference in my whole outlook to be honest.

There will be other avenues to consider if the ablation doesn’t work.

Have a good chat with your consultant x

No not all together, but went from long (20 days a month) and heavy to 3 days and very light.

A whole new lease of life (and fun), hopefully, awaits you. x

This is pretty much how my experience went..

The procedure didn't hurt, just uncomfortable..

My consultant had a junior doctor with him, so I got a running commentary and before and after imagine on screen.. which was nice

I wouldn't worry about it.. for me the result was worth the discomfort, although only lasted 2 months.. the worst thing for me was having the painkiller supositry up my bum

I had large fibroids.. I begged for a hysterectomy for years, but I had to endure every medication and procedure first as "hysterectomy is a last resort"

I would have probably saved NHS thousands if I'd had it done 15 years ago!!!

I had it done almost 20 years ago under GA. In and out the next day. Back to work 2 days after that. Never had another period. Life changing.

I didn’t use the suppository, it wasn’t too bad without it. It only lasts about 90 seconds and they did a countdown for me lol
