Ideas for paying forward..?

Completed so far.

Restaurant bill

My Donald's drive thru

Random fuel bill (clear wasn't a company car looking stereotype)

Never hang about afterwards....

Hopefully making someone's day....

How do you ascertain the McDonlads drive through people need your help ? Or the people eating in a restaraunt , or a random fuel bill ?

Or doesn’t it matter ?

Doesn't matter.......all been easy to do...

Drive thru, your the car 2 ahead...by time they get to pay your long gone.....same at restaurant....

Fuel bill was a person stressing out as card declined and was outside trying to contact someone to help....

Expect nothing....

Ah , I get it .

I like the idea of the fuel bill , but the other two seem pointless .

Why not try something like paying a tenner to the shop that does electric meter cards , so the next person gets it free or a tenner off what they do pay ? At least you know they need it.....

I like your suggestion...but how would you know the cashier hasn't pocketed the money...as don't hang around...

I paid a vet bill for a couple that rushed their dog in after it was in a car crash with them they were visiting the area and had nothing with them had lost wallet etc in car that had caught fire and were phoning someone to try and get them to pay , I was stood next to them when they were told how much before they were on the phone i just told the staff to add it to my account and left . When I went in to settle my account it was on there and also a hand written thank you note the dog had cuts and bruises but was ok .

It doesn’t work for me, personally. If I was the recipient of a free meal in a restaurant for example I might feel a little bit suspicious or perplexed by it all to be honest. I’d probably feel uncomfortable - and I realise that this probably says a lot more about me than the very kind person who paid, but nevertheless.

I wonder how much this is more about making the ‘giver’ feel good about themselves than the receiver?

I'd prefer to give money (if I had some) to someone who I knew definitely needed it,rather than someone who could afford to eat in a restaurant anyway. I dont know maybe that's not the point.

Last time I accepted a woman to pay me a drink I ended up in her bed and she took advantage of my lovely body.

So never again !

At work a couple of months ago I was too busy to go out at lunch to buy a sandwich so a colleague offered to pick me up a meal deal, one of those where you get a sandwich, a snack and a drink for about £3. I gave her the cash and she came back with a nice sandwich, some water and a bag of smoky bacon crisps. I’m not a fan of that flavour so I slipped them into my backpack without saying anything. I appreciated her offer and was glad of the sandwich and the drink.

Later on as I walked to the station to get my train home I noticed a homeless guy so I decided to give him the crisps. My good deed for the day, I thought to myself. So I went to hand them over only to be met with a refusal because he was vegetarian! The crisps are now gathering dust at th back of the cupboard.

It’s good to feel though isn’t it? If it feels good to give and the receiver gets something that could make a difference to them, everyone’s a winner?

I paid someones fuel bill once, an anxious Mum with her crying baby, the cashier with an arsey attitude wanting her to fill out these forms, fair enough the forms need filling but don't humiliate the lady.

I just reached over, popped my card in and told the cashier to take her payment.

Couldn't look at the lady, because I didn't want the reaction lol. She was waiting when I left the fuel station, and burst into tears, told me she'd had the day from hell that day. Refused to give her my details,just told her to repay the favour to someone else. Was only £20 to be fair.

I always try to help those in need if I can

I must have looked rough the other day, my local coffee shop gave me a latte that had been pre-paid. I was really grateful and it cheered me up no end.

I said I'd pay it forward, and at the parking pay point, a mother was in tears because she had a couple of screaming kids and no enough change. I paid for her so that she could comfort her children and get home. She wanted my details to pay me back, I asked her to pay it forward, to which she agreed.

There was a chain mail thing on Facebook a few years back, the first five people go comment on your status you would pay it forward for them.

One of the teachers that happened to teach me and my husband put the status up, and of course I commented.

He sent us away for a night to a posh hotel and with a meal, all paid for by him

A friend of ours does a door step challenge for Xmas. It's basically like the ring someone's doorbell and run away, only you leave a box of goodies at the door. She does this for families/ people that are going through a hard time.
