Are these shows just a p r stunt exercise to try and give the public confidence that the police are doing something ?

No I don't. I think as the originals were popular they just carried on and made more.

That's why we get to watch Australian cops, it's not like it can be a pr stunt then.

It's always interesting at the end when the narrator reads out the sentances that were handed down.

The guy who knocked the car and drove round the housing estate doing 70mph and then crashed and run got 3 points, £250 fine, a speed awareness course and 100 hours community service. That'll make him think twice of falling foul of the Thames Valley Police!
