Is it vain if you got turned off by someone's teeth? Like if they had black bits between them. Mine aren't perfect but I mean blackness I kinda associate with like bad hygiene for teeth to get that way.

It's not vain

Different people have different triggers

Bad teeth seems a pretty common one

I am not into prominent teeth or people who show a lot of gum

Bad skin is a turn off for me, as are big noses

I know others who love a strong nose though

Not at all. I've not gone further than a social with someone for that very reason.

It may semantics but isn't vanity a first person characteristic?

your imagination

I had to have dental treatment last year after a strong antibiotic used to treat a post-op infection had the surprising effect of staining my teeth. I was really self-conscious about my smile and used to brush so hard I made my gums bleed. It took 1 deep clean and 2 subsequent cleans plus 2 filling replacements before I felt right again. Nothing to do with hygiene whatsoever.

I get what you're saying but there's a difference between staining and like the type you see on Jeremy Kyle

That's fair. I wasn't talking about missing teeth.

Cheers for that. I do feel bad because I don't like being mean but it just was a turn off.

No. It’s preference. Totally up to you what you’re looking for. I like nice teeth too so yeah it would probably put me off. Same as beards. I just couldn’t kiss someone with a beard. Can’t help it I just don’t like them.

I've got a huge size difference between my upper and lower jaws.

This is hereditary. so my lower jaw's teeth fit on the inside of my front teeth and have been worn down over the years. The tops have a lot of caps and crowns and look OK.

Americans don't like bad teeth, do they?
