Too slow for Sloes

As Autumn's mellow fruitfulness draws to a close, do you still have anything you can harvest where you live? Unfortunately I have left it too late for the Sloes that grow near me in London. Are they still on the trees where you are?

What else is still there to pick? What do you make with it?

Are they outside or in a greenhouse?

Season over for me, just covered my bananas and tree ferns with their polytunnnel for the winter. Wasn't at all annoying to put it on inside out in the rain this morning

Surprised they haven't been badly frost damaged, I left one of my plants a week too late, now no leaves all winter.

There are a few sloes still about I saw some this weekend alongside a motorway but being so close to traffic I,d never use those but they,ll be others about somewhere I pick mine in august and make gin with them before the end of august or beginging of september haveing left them in a fridge for a week or two before I,ve made 4 bottles this year.

Cornwall

Sloes were at their best a month or so ago down here. Managed to get a good harvest of them and a good supply of blackberries this year
