I wouldn't say i was a good cook but what i cook i am good at. My dishes are indian dishes, and roast dinners. The indian has taken me ages to master but will never get a take out curry again. I really enjoy cooking and would like to learn more.

I absolutely love cooking and my signature dishes are Indian. I love to cook with spice.

Last weekend I made an Indian spread for family and it took me 8 hrs! Phew!!

I make good soups (apparently)

My attempts at baking are renowned for their failure rate - my caramel flapjack in particular.

It smelled amazing, it looked amazing. Just one minor issue. You couldn't cut into it. Not even with an electric knife.

Everyone likes different things so you can think you're a good cook but maybe it only tastes good to you!

I like the things that I make for me

I can cook most generic foods like steaks etc ..

But even a simple spag bol is all about your taste buds.

I had a lasagne the other day that was full of garlic - awful!

But my work collegue thought it was delicious.

Im a very good cook, was taught the basics by my parents when I was younger. Gained more skills when I worked in a restaurant. I find it easy to follow recipes but can also throw things together without one.

Baking, not bad at but definitely need to follow a recipe.

I’m a fairly ok cook, I rarely use a recipe, I tend to estimate how it’s done by previously tasting the meal I’m cooking, I do a good prawn and chicken madras, beef stroganoff, satay, but a signature dish, home made lasagne,no it’s a dish we call Saturday night special

I went to boarding school and some of the mush that they served up there could barely be described as half palatable. I was in the CCF, and we had a Field Trip to Fort Tregantle for about 5 days (I was 15), the chef there prepared some of the best meals that I had eaten in a long time. I think it might have been him that inspired me to start experimenting with ingredients and become accomplished when it comes to making dishes from scratch

I'd like to think I'm a decent cook. When you're at uni you either learn to cook pretty well sharpish or you just end up surviving on takeaway half the time.

Probably my signature dishes would be carbonara (the proper way), scallops in a white wine cream sauce served with pasta, and bacon/pork chops with potato dauphinoise. I'm still gonna learn to make Mac and Cheese as well as pies. Though I'm pretty sure I already know how to make a cream pie!

A friend bought me a copy of The Flavor Bible (US book) a few years back and it makes a huge difference once your cooking technique is in place. Gives you the confidence to experiment while not fucking it all up.

I'm a good cook but would like to do evening classes to really take it up a notch. I make a mean tiramisu, chocolate roulade, and other indulgent deserts. I tend to cook Italian as it's so easy and tasty. But a really yummy roast or a fish pie works too. Yum yum

Brown Lentil soup. Perfect for winter. Make a big batch and freeze.

Ingredients. Baby potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, greens, spinach, mushrooms, celery, brown lentils (soaked or cans), veg stock, soy sauce.

Fry onions, garlic in olive oil. Season. Add carrots, potatoes, stock and lentils. Bring to boil. Add greens and spinach and whatever other veg you like. Lower heat to simmer. Add soy sauce to taste and cook for about on low heat for about 30-40mins.

Serve with warm crusty buttered bread.

Easy, tasty and keeps in the freezer.
