Weight loss surgery

Hi

The missus is undergoing weight loss surgery (Roux-en-Y... otherwise known as a gastric bypass) the week after next. She's terrified... but determined.

Anyone have any advice or insight?

Please, no awful fat-phobic comments about 'lifestyle changes through natural means' ... we've heard it all. She's not changing her mind.

Ideally we'd like to hear from people who have undergone the procedure.

No direct experience, I’m afraid, but can I wish her all the best with it.

I’m 4 years post op, it’s been hard at times and isn’t a cure all. It’s a tool to use. Can be a bit uncomfortable at first as they fill you with gas , so get some peppermint cordial in to help. And plenty of rest at first as it’s very tiring going from eating to not being able to eat and just drinking the protein shakes. She can pm me if she needs to know more x
