How did bands get their names?

I will start it off

Apparently 10cc are called this because the average amount of sperm ejaculated by a man is 9cc

The band thought they were above average so allegedly called themselves 10 CC

"Led Zeppelin were named as when the members first formed a music journalist said they would crash lije a led balloon "

I think it might have been Keith Moon from The Who who said they would ‘go down like a lead zepplin’. They changed the spelling from ‘Lead’ to ‘Led’ to make sure people said it right.

Fairport Convention were so called because they covened in one of the bands parents’ house called ‘Fairport’.

This is false - do a quick web search, the average male ejaculate is 3-4cc. Jonathan King came up with the name after he dreamed about a band called 10cc.
