Can you pull off bold fashion statements? And fashion disasters

I just picked up a couple of vivid punchy shirts from a specialist in distinctive shirts. I'm happy dressing boldly from time to time. And a really funky shirt or jacket will often make me smile too.

I have a few Sgt pepper style jackets that I wear to parties some times. I also have this military jacket that I plastered with weird corporate badges. I wore it out to a dub reggae anti-racism night and got loads of looks... I thought in appreciation for looking super cool. Then on the walk home I overheard a guy in the street saying to his mate "isn't that a luftwaffe jacket?". When I got back I Googled it and found to my horror that I'd just been to an anti-racist gig dressed as a fucking nazi haha

Hefty Hideaway

I was at a Christening yesterday dressed in a big frock with bigger hair. A couple of d up blondes with their jumpsuits up their arsecracks said... ‘we couldn’t pull off that look. It’s nice to see someone who dresses different’ I held my tongue.

But yeah. Totally pulled it off.

I'm quite conservative with things.

I thought I was brave getting a chunky fringe cut in recently

I like to be different and edgy sometimes. I love fashion but like take it and mix it up a bit my way.

Used to rock a bit of guy liner back in the day and some strangely cut shirts.

Prefer smart these days.

Throughout the course of a week I usually manage mumsy, demure, fashionable, out there, a hot mess, a Jeremy Kyle rejected contestant and sexy wife just depends what the laundry basket and bottom of the wardrobe are offering up first

I’m reasonably fashionable without trying desperately to look hip. I love clothes and enjoy buying new things. When I wear something new I feel Uber-confident and strut like a peacock.

I’ve not had any particular disasters, although one tie-dyed shirt does make me shudder in a “what were you thinking” kind of way.

Sometimes I go for rock star chic, leather biker jacket with skinny jeans and a tshirt. Other times I will go for a more relaxed, preppie look or a 60’s vibe from Ted Baker or Pretty Green. I only wear sportswear in the gym and men over 30 should be banned from wearing it outside in the daylight!

Put it this way someone once told me I am very brave with my clothes.

I'm not edgy at all but I don't conform to what people expect of a woman my age.

I wore a striped red and cream knitted scarf today.

It wasn't a fashion statement, it was the only one I could find.

I hate fashion with a passion. I often appear to dress like a 3 year old, short cute dress, halo or star wars hoody, odd baseball boots and fluffy socks, well it is cold now ya know. If I like it, I wear it! I look weird dressed normally and the fashionable stuff is disgustingly shapeless so that is a massive no too

My wardrobe is about 90% black with the odd drop of grey, khaki or white thrown in if I'm feeling crazy!

I stand out enough without wearing garish items of clothing

My wardrobe is pretty much on the formal side of things. Mainly long dark pants, dress shirts in six different colours both light and dark, a light gray summerweight blazer from Topman, a dark burgundy winterweight blazer from Slaters, a Greenwoods overcoat and a Zara camel trenchcoat. Also a couple polo shirts for the summer, a three-piece navy suit for proper formal occasions, three ties of different designs and colours (but mostly solid colour palettes or muted patterns), and perhaps the most casual of all clothing I own: a gray Game Of Thrones hoodie with the House Stark logo on it.

However, I do adore accessorising my outfit up with stuff such as lapel pins, brooches and hatwear. I always wear one of my signature gold jet fighter lapel pins on the collar of my dress shirts (feel naked without them! A hangover from my army days.), and I have at least two GoT Hand Of The King brooches in different sizes for either my blazers or overcoat. And the best accessory I have would be me carrying off wearing a white Russian ushanka in winter to keep my head nice and toasty warm. It's an absolute showstopper anywhere I go and I'm extremely proud of it.

My mantra for dressing is to imagine putting on a uniform or suit of armor in front of the mirror. Everything should fit well, make me look smart and sharp, and give me an air of being in charge whenever I walk into a room. And most importantly, I must look like I'm dressed more expensively than what I actually spent on my clothing! So far I'm glad that it's worked fine. I do get complimented on my dress sense a lot both at Fab socials and in normal life, although I did have to entertain jokes about potentially being gay because I put so much effort in my dressing!

Hounslow

I love my clobber but don't take many risks (apart from on the golf course, I'm outrageous! And I can prove it) lactose, lyle & Scott, Hugo boss and Ralph, that's pretty much my lot.

I go to the shops in rubber, vinyl, pvc or leather .. I don't give a fuck about what anybody thinks of my fashion because it isn't fashion. It is me..
