If you had enough money say to buy a Range Rover vogue or similar, what would you buy?

Leeds + Newcastle

Yes. I love mine and I was ever so thankful to have been in it when I was victim to a serious car crash.

Poor black beauty didn't survive but the insurance replaced it.

The problem with rangerovers and other premium German cars is that loads of people have them now look at the typical school run loads of Chelsea tractors bmw mercs etc etc all pretty bland apart from the msport or amg versions but most are truly boring diesels now the op was prestigious cars well that has to be Aston Porsche or Ferrari not your mud pluggers or company rep cars if your in the market for a 4 door saloon go and buy the Alfa Guilla truly stunning looking car

But I’ve got a 14 year old BMW estate with 190000 miles on the clock instead. Means I can chuck my mountain bikes in with impunity. A car that you’re not precious about is a blessing

If you think a Vogue isn’t prestigious you’ve clearly never been in one!

As beautiful as a supercar is, they are not comfortable to drive day in day out. If you want to travel comfortably, in style and luxury... buy a Vogue! Afterall, the Queen drives / is driven in them...

Oh and they are British these days... Jaguar Land Rover!

Yep I'd spend my money elsewhere. Cars are a waste of money in my opinion. Id rather extend my house. Home improvements don't generally make strangers automatically think you're a pretentious fuck. Unlike most prestige cars.

I love cars, but I don't need 'luxury' or 'speed' to get me where I want to go

Comfortable and doesn't break down too often is enough

I have a ceiling of £25k for any car I'd ever wish to buy

I only buy second hand too, a couple of years old then run it for another two

A newer Volvo XC90 for us, RR have the image sewn up, not so much the reliability or safety though. UK accident stats for the XC90 say no one has ever died in an RTA while in an XC90 since its introduction in 2004.

Oh & ours isn't a diesel. LPG rules!!

If it was anything I'd go oldskool with a 68 MB 300Sel 6.3

I used to have an x reg orange xr2. It needed an engine so I fitted the escort xr3i engine to it and flowed the crappy head to make it run better. It was quite fun then.

I still remember all the things needed to do the conversion if interested.

How was the under steer with all that extra power?!

Torque steer was awful had to the wheel 90 degrees to go straight when I floored it! "

Old cars are ace. I still miss my old Volvo 440 turbo! Ugly as sin, always brought a smile to my lips!

Two others I'd buy in a heartbeat would be a Dodge Charger, and an Aston, cant make up my mind which Aston though, but the DB9 is favourite so far.

Handles just fine- i actively tried to get mine to do a mini drift in the wet on roundabouts but it didn't even twitch out of line.

The tin worm can be a pest on the doors and lower rear quarter sills mainly, but theres an active owners club scene keeping them going.

The Barchetta is the more friendly daily drive option- if you can cope with a left hooker on a daily basis?

"I am a curmudgeonly grumpy old fart - so you can keep all your expensive modern cars.

I’ll take an old Morris Minor van any day of the week.

Top choice. I’ve got a Minor Saloon which is both beautiful and reliable. Mind you, I love my Discovery too especially in the winter."

A major let down then?

I’d love to get myself an Audi SQ7.

Going to have to get rid of my current Q7 due to all this new diesel tax. But, I just can’t get myself to part with it.
