"The Straight Story - one of Lynch’s excellent linear tales. " Its still utterly brilliant- no car chases, no explosions, no fight scenes, no expensive CGI....just a man on a lawn mower and a cracking script

"Phone booth. Colin Farrell in a phone box for an hour and a half. " Thats sort of a holy grail of film directing- can you house an entire film in a single location and keep it entertaining? (it also makes production massivly cheaper in general). Phone booth does stray from it a little- Reservoir Dogs is a similar example where most of it is set in the warehouse. If you want to check out what can be done- hunt out Nightingale. Brilliant acting but one of the most depressing films i've ever seen.
