if no kids concerned id say they are an EX for a reason. you have no further concerns regards their situation or anything that happens in their life so why on earth would you throw money at them .

if there are children involved then depends what money is for doesnt it.

No you have to look after number one in this life, its a bit rude of her to say your mean. Though if my sons short of money because he has been spending too much, i give him some if i can afford too.

Definitely not! Having had a rotten experience with my ex over the last 10 months, as far as I'm concerned, if she wants extra money cos she's blown what I give her, then she's got plenty of other people to tap up. If my kids need something, then I either get it myself, or I make damn sure I see the receipt..

Looking at it from the other side. For me id feel id no right in asking. If it was just for me. But if it was for the kids then I would.

After my marriage failed. I didn't get any financial help for the first year. After the family home was sold. I got a small settlement . He does pay towards his daughters up keep now too.
