Dunno.

Fireworks seem to get earlier same with Easter.

Shops in London had Christmas stuff out in August they have to maximize profits.

It's only a business for them.

It brings a lot of pressure each year but once Christmas Day comes you just have to get on with it.

I love it but at the right time, for me that isn't in October.

I love it! It might be too early for some but not for me. I have Christmas preparations well underway. I love walking into decorated shops and seeing all the Christmas goodies. It’s beautiful

I usually start making stock for Christmas sales around June, but as I was away for a few months this year I started in April, and still have a lot left to make!

From a retail perspective, they need to be displaying stuff that sells

Most of the supermarkets have a 'seasonal' section

Give it a week and the halloween shit will be gone only to be replaced by even more Christmas shit

Oh and before New Year has even said 'hello', it will be time for Easter

There and to the left a bit

Whilst I totally "get" the while thing about spreading the cost and shops trying to maximise profits etc I do think there are ways to do that without going totally overboard with full on displays that do seem to get earlier and earlier - our local Tesco has had Xmas stuff out since early September!!

For me it really shouldn't start with the full on stuff until after Rememberance Sunday.

I don't feel pressured. Being able to buy early takes the pressure off of me as I hate shopping, so have to do it a bit at a time.

I am into wood... particularly woodturning, but also a bit of cabinet making, box making etc. It's mostly a self financing hobby. Though I have made good money from time to time I don't really like repetition and don't want it to be an actual job so it will never be a business. But I get orders for Christmas presents, decorations etc. And feel obliged to meet them and a few extras.

Personally i think it should wait until after Remembrance Sunday. It does seem a little odd seeing scary Halloween masks and costumes displayed next to cute snowmen, polar bears and Santas. Why sell stuff for both events simultaneously?

1st of December is early enough for me, although I’m a right Scrooge that has no interest in Christmas.
