"I think each individual has their own unique sense of humour, sometimes its just shared when viewing/hearing familiar subjects we can associate with." the humour is indeed contained within the familiarity for example, a joke referring to 'a biscuit' leaves the subject open to interpretation however, a joke about a milk chocolate chocolate hobnob provides us with a direct point of reference and familiarity sadly i am no stranger to said items

"Sorry missed half the words outta the first post ! Anyway, the questions should have been : Do men in general have a more developed sense of humour than women ? Do you think the sense of 'what is funny' varies between the sexes ?" No don't think men have a more developed sense of humour. But do think that 'what is funny' definitely varies. Both of us have totally different sense of humours which makes things interesting sometimes.

"Do men in general have a more developed sense of humour than women ? No. Do you think the sense of 'what is funny' varies between the sexes ? Yes." Agreed! I think the two questions are linked actually. There is a certain type of humour that's better at being performed, and men seem to be better at that type of humour. And there might be a genetic link here. But that doesn't make it funnier, just different. But it's also complicated by the fact that there does appear to be a difference in what is seen as being funny, which does sit along a gender line. It's not easy to define however, but in vey broad terms there appear to be a difference.
