southend

I wouldn't like those hours. Lost the day.

I do either 8-4 or 2-10. I like my shifts better, easier to plan my day.

As someone that starts earlier than that and usually finishes later than that then I’d love those hours!

I don't mind it, but others think it's naff - think it ruins the evening etc etc

After years of working mad hours, I'm glad of a job where I can leave at 6pm, switch off and switch back on again the following morning

Nah I love it. Apart from when the M6 is shut as it was yesterday. A 90 minute drive took 4 hours.

There and to the left a bit

I think a lot would depend on how far from work you live and other related factors - if you've a long commute then it could well eat away your evening, but if not then it wouldn't make much difference and the extra hour of a morning would be a plus

9-5 for me, or thereabouts depending on how quickly i get out of bed. With then nights drawing in and the clocks going back i'm going to have to start adjusting that to 8-4.

I do 11.30am - 8.30pm or 11.30am - 4.30pm every other day.

I HATE finishing at 8.30 I'm always too tired for anything other than dinner then bed

"Good working hours or naff ?"

It would be naff for me, I’m one of those annoying people that gets up early and likes going to work at the crack of dawn, the upside is I am home by 14.30 and I miss all the traffic

Worthing

I prefer early start and early finish but at least those hours (where I live) avoid most of the traffic.

That is the only downside

My other half sets his alarm for 6am. Once that goes off, I'm awake. So no lie ins.

He leaves just after 7

I am just going to use the spare time in the mornings to do little jobs, do errands and such, leaving the evenings free.

I'll be home by half 6, so still plenty of time to do stuff of an evening if needs be

Halifax

I work 10-6 and it suits me. But the M62 is crap so it always feels like rush hour.

I have been starting at 9am on my induction and finishing at 5pm

As the site is on an industrial estate, getting to the motorway at 5pm is a pain in the bum, sh hoping that by 6, that will have cleared a bit.

True. Thankfully I only have 5 junctions on the quieter part of the M60 which was half the reason I went for the job in the first place

I got fed up of the 18 mile trip to Warrington that was taking 90 minutes or longer, each way
