Been chatted with someone for a while now through here and on Kik. Sending flirty messages and naughty pics. We arranged to meet last night. Saying she was working in Debenhams until 6 and pick her up from and go from there. I get there about 5 mins early and wait patiently until 615 where I get a text saying she’s now finishing at 7 and will text me later. So I shoot off and about an hour later I get another text asking to pick her up again. So i go back to Debenhams and she asks me to wait by the doors. I say it’s freezing out here just jump in the car, I get out for 2 mins and I text saying I’m here now. The message is read and the next message is undelivered. I’m now thinking wtf she’s stood me up. I bugger off again. Text her this morning saying what happened last night. I’ve just received a text apologising and saying they want to come clean. It’s a guy! A geezer! A bloke. Am I doing something wrong or am I a complete moron for falling for this ? It’s a first not an amusing one at that !!

I would always ask for a picture of the person doing a very specific type of pose. Any guy can use girls pictures, but obviously wont be able to re create a certain pose youre asking the 'girl'to do.

I seem to recall some time ago a chap posting a thread about arranging to meet a 'lady' from fab in a car park, only to find that a fella was the only person awaiting him. I can't remember if he said they still went ahead with the meet or not though

Personally I have always spoken over the phone before we have met, I guess that's always a good way to find out if they are male or female..

I got caught out recently even though my B.S. / Timewaister radar is normally spot on.

After chatting to a couple for a while they invited me over..

I parked as directed then text to say I was here. No reply and messages unread. 10 mins later a man walked over to the car he asked me to park in front of. He got in and drove off not before winking at me and giving me a thumbs up.

Two mins later the profile went unlos

I had one a few years back now, I thought I was speaking to a woman called Nicki, several pics all of the same person. Couple of weeks in she kept requesting pics, I didn't - on the one occasion I did she went offline immediately. We were talking on whatsapp at this point. I put her number into Facebook expecting nothing, or her to pop up - but instead a middle-aged man popped up. I got my husband to text him say he was having a clear out of numbers was this still Alans number - straight away he came back with yes.

Nicki was supposed to be collecting me from my house and taking me to her flat in London - I'm not sure quite how Alan thought he would pull it off, he was short, fat, bald, married and lived in Yorkshire according to his Facebook

I reverse search all images before I respond to any message on here, the number of verified profiles with pictures of foreign pornstars is quite alarming. Our block list is quite lengthy.

I would accommodate that, being asked for endless selfies is a real turn off. I’ll send a live selfie or two on Kik, chat on the phone but I’ve stopped talking to people who were distrusting enough to ask for me to continually prove who I am. It’s boring and exhausting

If you're using kik and exchanging messages and pictures I personally ask for a live pic ( says camera below the photo proving it's just been taken through the app for you) nothing explicit, Both sides do it then you know their fab pics are accurate. Doesn't eliminate all risk but it helps. It's a shit situation to find yourself in but easy to crack on with after the initial frustration. Best of luck going forward.

We would have started to get suspicious if a single woman told a guy from the net where she worked and agreed to get in his car. That coupled with the sudden change in finish time would have had alarms ringing loudly. However as a genuine guy yourself you had no real reason to doubt the "lady".

Better luck next time as a colleague once wrote on the congratulations card for a man about to enter into his second marriage.
