The shires are very good.

I don't think Johnny cash can be beaten though. He was in a different class

I like the older more traditional sort of country music. I particularly love Guy Clark and country music of that ilk. Townes Van Zandt, Gram Parsons, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson etc.

Not a big fan of new country, fo love the Cash like everyone else seems to. Willie Nelson doesn’t get the credit he deserves, mainly as a song writer (so many that people don’t realise) and also as a singer/performer (fairly credible actor on occasion).

Love Loretta lynns voice and My guilty pleasure is a little Hank Williams yodelling n Warbling... my son calls another man daddy- top class!

Very much so. Personally, my favourite of the modern era is Brad Paisley. Love a lot of his lyrics - his humour really comes through, for me anyway. But he can also rock it out (Mona Lisa or Drive of Shame foir example) as well as go quite trad. Worth looking out C2C at the O2 next March as the annual Country fest in the UK. Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton and Lady Antebellum headlining. Looking forward to seeing Cam too - love her. Probably the modern / current Dolly. Lots to love out there from the oild timers to the new face of country.

"Loads.

Love a bit of Tennessee Whiskey.....

Chris Young has a great voice too...

And I like some of Lady Antebellum's stuff, like American Honey:

And the track they did with Maroon 5, that's really haunting:

Not sure you’d class them technically as C&W, and despite all the negative publicity they received, I still enjoy listening to The Dixie Chicks.

Didcot

Define country?

I like a lot of The Eagles country leaning stuff

Janis Joplins version of Me and Bobby McGee, it's sort of country isn't it?

Black Velvet Alannah Myles, not sure where that fits country rock/blues?

Delta Dawn Tanya Tucker

Always on my Mind Willie Nelson, by far the best version of this song.
