The right place

I drink black tea and coffee

But it depends if you make tea in a teapot apparently you should put milk in the cup first.

But if you are a normal slob and chuck a teabag in a mug, then milk last.

If you bring milk anywhere near me or my hot beverage, I will probably end up like that lady from the WI character that David Walliams does on Little Britian

You have to put milk in your cup first otherwise you run the risk of curdling it.

General scientific rule of thumb is that when you're mixing two liquids of different temperatures is you add the hotter to the cooler, what can I say, I'm a geek?

Whichever way you do it, if you don't leave it to brew there's no point.

No. I have problems all over the world with tea.

In Europe they don’t have the water hot enough, hand you a glass cup and a fruit teabag or a horrifically sweet lemon tea.

Boiling water, not hot, bag or leaves in first in warmed pot preferably, water in stir and leave to brew for around 2 mins. Stir again. Pour and add milk (and sugar if you take it)

"But are we putting milk in our brews first or what? "

you're obviously some crazy, bohemiem foreign type- born without the natural british tea drinking instincts.

I had one waitress on holiday trying to convince me that Earl Grey was pretty much the same as English breakfast tea...and she forgot to bring me a bloody tea spoon two mornings running-Pfffft!

Of all the subjects I’ve seen on here this has to be the most outrageous thing I’ve ever heard !!!!

Of course not putting milk in 1st is for the uncivilised or as they are otherwise known Americans

I think so. My granny only drank tea out of a bone China cup. She always put the milk in first with hers but no one else's. It was in a tea pot tho so no tea bag x

Black tea stains the interior of the cups.

I don't even drink tea. Nor do I hear coffee drinkers having this row.

Next you'll be saying not to stir it 5 times clockwise and 7 times anti-clockwise....

That would be just wrong

"Black tea stains the interior of the cups.... Nor do I hear coffee drinkers having this row."

But generally, tea drinkers aren't daft enough to pay £4 for a paper cup of warm 'stuff' with a stupidly long name just containing vowels....and we also know which tea is ours, we don't need our name written on the cup
