I’ve only been back at work already and I’m full of the cold!

A staff member came in (she had already been off sick at the beginning of the week) full of the cold, and despite her barely chatting, or doing anything really, I’ve managed to catch it.

Sore head, sore throat, blocked nose, just feeling run down and in general, very ‘meh’.

Who else is suffering?

Usually same though. Our place doesn't pay first 3 days off so j. So everyone cones in with a cold and battles through, sadly sharing with everyone else.

Paracetamol, hot lemon, warm bed prescribed by Dr Tee

I had a few weeks ago..full week. I went to work everyday(snottery,sneezing etc)..it actually helped me get sales(I'm not a cold caller lol)

I must have a stubborn immune system, I get a cold all usual symptoms for a day. Tablets, hot lemon and warm bed, sweat it out overnight, wake up with just a snotty nose.

It's like my immune system sees the cold, finishes it's cup of tea, rings it's mates, organises a night out to fight the cold and I wake up feeling better.

I’ve woken today with that slight soreness each time I swallow, in fact that sudden awareness of the usually unconscious action of swallowing which normally becomes first warning sign of an incoming sore throat! I’m manuka honey, ginger and lemoning to try and ward it off.

It’s yuck to be feeling run down. Get well, OP.

I've had it in various stages for two weeks. Not normally one who gets sick to the point i need to stop but sadly i ended up with 2 days off work unable to function. Its been particularly hard on everyone this year I think. Hope you feel better soon xx

I honestly never used to get ill - worked with babies and toddlers and at least one of them was ill at any time, and I was fine! Nowadays, a child could sneeze in the same room as me and that’s me buggered for a fortnight! X
