"This company is refusing to let its staff wear a poppy incase it upsets other religions, just seen it on there twitter page ,i think its dam disgusting,..

"

Disgusting, doesn't even come close.

This is pure ignorance, as plenty of Sikhs have fought in both wars, for our side. That's not offensive to them, as for the Jews, well they were grateful for all the help they could get in WWII.

So who exactly is being offended after this 100 year old tradition?

Fake news, becomes fact if enough people give it enough oxygen and time to grow. Like fire and rumors, once these things get out of control...

It’s a none religious symbol.

It’s worn across a host of commonwealth countries and many former allies and adversaries from both world wars.

"The poppy is a religion? "

I think getting outraged over not being allowed to wear one is maybe?

Like all good religions it even has it's own made up texts and traditions...

Though I think it's still battling for traction against the slightly older and more established "furious about Christmas being cancelled" religion

OP that's clearly not their official Twitter account, hasn't got the tick and just the @ handle using 00 instead of oo in the spelling are good clues. Do people really think big companies are stupid enough to take the bad publicity banning poppies would entail? This is a non story every year.

OP, what do you know about the owner of this chain of pubs? What, apart from being the owner, is he famous for being a proponent of? Brexit.

Do you honestly believe he would allow ultra PC rules (not laws) creep into his organisation.?

I ate breakfast there a few weeks ago on a group outing, not by choice.

It was not a wise decision.
