The Prodigy at V festival 97 was pretty awesome. As were Kasabian at Reading a couple years back. But the gig that beat them all for me would have to be Ash's ten year anniversary of Free All Angels tour at the Bristol Academy in 2011. Intimate venue and an absolute knockout performance!

Mick Jones (The Clash) and Wayne Kramer (MC5) with a band including Billy Bragg and the drummer of the Foo Fighters in a pub in Camden playing Clash and MC5 songs in memory of Joe Strummer.

There have been many other great gigs over the last 30 years but that ones pretty ace

Thunder, supporting Heart in about 1990...they were bloody amazing! A close second would be Incubus, I went on my own at a very difficult time but it was more than worth it

Rammstein at the O2, first time i sae them live. The stage shows are like nothing I had seen before, i mean who else uses flame throwers, foam cannon or flaming angle wings. The group sings in German, but the industrial heavy metal sound is amazing.

Seen some amazing people but this was an intimate gig that quite blew me away watching from up on balcony. Maybe because I was pregnant I was so emotional.

I've been to some fantastic stadium and arena gigs - Muse, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Foos - but the most amazing one was seeing Portishead in London's Eve club in 1994 where they showcased their debut album Dummy for more or less the first time. It was so intimate, the stage was tiny, I was stood just two feet away from Beth Gibbons and it sounded magical in a very confined space.

So far, Stone Sour at Rock City a few months ago. Not the biggest but one of our first gigs together with some songs (especially one) that really mean something to us. Either that or Rage Against The Machine at Reading 96 with 50,000 people singing ‘fuck you I won’t do what you tell me’

I know SSS would have different ones as he has more to choose from but that’s my offering.

Tears for Fears Portsmouth Guild Hall 1983, the support band, the Adventures were better... £7.90 was the ticket price. Seeing them again in 2019, Alison Moyet supporting them.

Seeing the Stones at Glastonbury in 2013 then seeing them a week later in Hyde Park was awesome.

Glastonbury felt like unfinished business and Hyde Park in the sunshine was almost surreal. It’s a legendary venue for the Stones.

I have been to hundreds of gigs, mainly punk and Oi. But the best fun I had was a couple of years ago when Adam Ant and his new band took the Kings of the Wild Frontiers to Brighton Centre.

A 60 year old man belting out all our old favs, including some from Dirk Wears White Socks. Still two drummers, three guitars, and a full house of Ant fans having a truly wonderful evening.

I saw Thunder at the MK Bowl in 1991; ZZ Top and Brian Adams (I think; it was a very long day! )

It must be mid 90's again but went to see Drugstore in some dive in the Merchant City. Really intimate. I felt like Isabel was just stood there singing the the whole gig just for me!

Can't pick just one so you're getting my top 5 in no particular order:

Madness - Madstock - 8th August 1992 - The first time they'd played in 6 years, the atmosphere was electric and the gig caused an earthquake!! The Madnificent 7 were back and some!!

Green Day - Hyde Park - 1st July 2017 - if the park'd have a roof, they'd have blown it off well and truly!!

The Beat - Hammersmith Palais - October 1982 - a band at it's pinnacle, everything came together that night for an amazing gig.

Muse - Etihad Stadium - June 2014 - got a place just off the barrier at the end of the walkway, absolutely brilliant show both music and stage set.

The Specials - Brixton Academy - 2009 - The first time they'd played London since the 80s and they knocked it out the park

We are scientists 2016 Ynot- with first born reliving her first ever gig...side stage! then drinking with them afterwards

Not a Metallica fan. But I’ve been blown away by nofx and bad religion before.

Also Propagandhi, they always kill it. As do Comeback Kid, and Sick of it all. These bands are amazing every time.

That was my first gig! Incredible show. Was lucky enough to see him a few more times, the last being one of his Hit’n’Run shows at the Electric Ballroom in Camden. Which would have to be my pick. Three hours queuing for a ticket on the night chatting to people, £10 to get in, tiny venue so really close, and a blistering 2 hour set. At the end everyone was just in sheer disbelief at what they had just witnessed.
