I just watched Coco on Sky.

Absolutely brilliant movie but suffice to say that I am now rendered a bloody gibbering wreck

So....what was the last film you watched that made you cry?

Also, what is the saddest film you’ve ever seen?

Can't remember the last film that made me cry, but then I can't even remember what films I've watched lately - but I'm a soppy bugger so I cry at anything.

Saddest film I'd say is Carrington, made all the worse by the fact it's based on a true story. Emma Thompson plays Dora Carrington, the artist from the Bloomsbury set. John Malcovich plays Lytton Strachey, the gay author. She's in love with him but he's not in love with her (obviously).

So she marries. Her husband is madly in love with her, but she doesn't love him because she loves Lytton. Lytton doesn't love her, because he's gay, but he *does* fall in love with her husband, who doesn't love him because he's not gay and he loves his wife. So they all love someone who doesn't love them back and then they all kill themselves.

There’s another one that I think is really sad but I can’t remember it and it’s annoying me! It’s a bit like top gun, the man dies and his wife falls in love with his best friend but then in the end it turns out he wasn’t dead. Thought it was Orlando bloom but I can’t find it. Someone put me out of my misery it’s bugging me!

Another one of the saddest things I’ve ever watched was an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Now bear with me on this one; I know what you’re thinking; ‘How the hell can a syfi show be sad?!’

The episode was entitled ‘The Visitor’ and if you’ve ever seen it, you’ll understand. I was literally blubbering throughout

Three TV programmes with Thora Hird in them

Two were Alan Bennett 'Talking Heads' episodes, A cream cracker under the settee and Waiting for the Telegram

The other was a series she was in with Pete Postlethwaite called Lost for Words

Get me every time those three and I don't mean a few tears, I mean full on sobbing

Cinema Paradiso, the end has me blubbering away.

But it’s always ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ you have Boo Radley a character throughout the film and book portrayed as a disturbed man, but not only does he make gifts for the children, in the end he ends up saving one of their lives by fighting to the death the real villain of the story.

Yet his bravery and sacrifice will never be recognised by the townspeople.

I cry when I read the book or watch the film, bit embarrassing as I first read the book at school

The halfblood prince.

It’s a very emotional film for any fan of the book/film series.

The similarities between albus and a man that had a huge influence on my young life and later became a mentor through my sporting career always makes me mournful.

MrsSB falls to bits every time with that film. She's from Barcelona so is super Spanish and this film and it's values resonate hugely with her. It's sweet to see.

Watching a documentary called Blackfish,about inhumane treatment of Orcas.

I've seen it before,I cried then and I'm crying right now.

I once went to Sea world and watched the shows,there was no doubt in my mind then that these magnificent animals ,and others, were being mistreated.

There is no doubt that the trainers and other people working at the park,do their jobs out of love for the animals but the corporation sees dollar signs not intelligent,emotional creatures.

About a month ago I saw a film called United based on the Manchester United Munich air plane disaster 23 people died 8 players and 2 so badly injured they never played again most were young men in their 20’s although I almost cried at the scene at the end when the new players are about to run out but all the assistant manager can see are the players that lost their lives.

The film version of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) has just delivered a rousing speech in defence of Tom Robinson, proving beyond all doubt that he could not have committed the crime.The jury find him guilty anyway,effectively sentencing him to death.

As Atticus leaves the courthouse,the entire public gallery stand for him in silent respect.

A very emotional scene which brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.

Mine was a documentary if that counts strangely enough! Was called dinosaur 13 about the discovery of a T. rex names sue! I recommend it, and it was the passion of one of the men involved that brought tears to my eyes xx

A kids movie called Mighty Joe Young.

A giant gorilla,captured and brought to America as a freak show exhibit (Yeah,It's King Kong without dinosaurs).

There's a commotion in the theatre and Joe escapes,with police,soldiers and helicopters chasing him.

For some reason there's a fire at a funfair and Mighty Joe rescues some children from a burning ferris wheel,,,unfortunately Joe falls,lifeless to the ground.

I think it was a 13 but I'd taken my then 8 year old daughter to the cinema.

She was sobbing loudly as I fought back my tears to say ''He will wake up,,,I'm sure he will wake up''.

Fortunately the movie had a happy ending and Joe made a full recovery to go and have a new life on a special sanctuary island. Thank F for that.

"Watching a documentary called Blackfish,about inhumane treatment of Orcas.

I've seen it before,I cried then and I'm crying right now.

I once went to Sea world and watched the shows,there was no doubt in my mind then that these magnificent animals ,and others, were being mistreated.

There is no doubt that the trainers and other people working at the park,do their jobs out of love for the animals but the corporation sees dollar signs not intelligent,emotional creatures.

There were interviews with some of the guys that had captured the whales,,,only during the round up had they realised the full scale of what they had done.Tough men who were fighting back tears as they recounted the horrible truth. Good on them for their honesty.

Yes I also had that opinion, and they still gave their interview knowing how they were perceived to the public, what was shocking still, was the total refusal and deny till death attitude of sea world themselves

Glory - with Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick - fantastic movie but the ending was so sad; I cried buckets (and am not ashamed to say so)
