Where's Estella?

I still struggle to know when to use affect and when to use effect, anyone else?

Like it's sound effect and the power went out but my street wasn't affected, is that right?

So the basic rule of thumb is that “affect” is almost always a verb and “effect” is usually a noun. There are deviations from this, but when in doubt, stick to the rule.
