What do you all think of men, women and couples who send a message and never get a reply ? Is it good manner to say “Thank you but not interested “?

Some, women particularly, literally get hundreds of messages. They wouldn't have time to reply to them all...

Please read the FAQs. No reply = no interest... easy.

I used to do this all the time, then when I had my filters turned up to the max I wondered how people were still managing to message me. Then I found out if you reply, it renders future filters ineffective. So that's why I and probably others often don't reply when not intetested.

I used to post back all those unsolicited marketing letters in the post (without a stamp and with a return to sender written in them) they didn’t reply back to me saying thank you.

So I suppose it would be hypocritical for people who discard a unsolicited marketing letters to complain about manners.

Will have to stop over thinking things.

I think 'did these people actually do due diligence and read the profile before sending the message' because you know, that 9 times out of 10 they haven't so why should anyone respond to something from someone who isnt suitable...

I used to occasionally respond with a ‘thanks, but no thanks’ if someone not within what I’m looking for had written a decent message, but then they would inevitably continue to message, so now I just delete.

So a more sensible answer. I used to reply to all.

Replying to messages became a bigger than anticipated job, when actually the forums are a big part of the reason I'm here.

I got lots of shit back from people - why not, didn't want to meet a fat saggy bitch like you anyway etc. Even the more polite ones often try to convince you otherwise.

I ended up therefore using energy to talk to people I wasn't interested in. Wasting my time and theirs.

Now I have put my age filters on, there are loads of blokes I've politely replied to who are way outside of my filters who can now message me still.

So as nice an idea as it is, I don't adhere to that now. I do still reply to the nice messages from men who fit my preferences but just aren't for me. But the crude messages, the one liners and the men outside of my age range, declaring partners on their profiles, with beards to their knees and piercings galore get a delete.

Most times I will reply as long as it’s a polite, well constructed message and not a “wat u up to hun xxxxx” or a “fancy a fuck hun xxxx”

However, if I say I’ll politely decline the attention, I get told why not, I’m a timewaster, if I’m here I should be here to meet/fuck, etc etc etc...

You can’t win, really!

If you're not interested I don't want you to waste your time or mine telling me so

And I guess my point is that people will have their own, valid, reasons for not replying and who is anyone to tell other members how to use the site.

Quite true OP My tell-tales company has mate 10 attempts to call you and I am sure you will ring back all 10 of them.
