1. Overly Generous - pays or offers to pay for everything

Or

2. Not Too Generous - makes you pay your way. Treats you as an equal. Obviously gets you gifts and treats now and then, but bills, holidays etc split 50/50....

I include meals out in the treats section. Standard a man pays for that. Unless it's his birthday.

"Option two, but he buys the first round. "

See if disagree. I think the woman should buy the first round. Equal Opportunities and all that. Also it's a fun twist to start the evening. Not the norm. An ice breaker.

Go up to a lady at the bar and ask her if she believes in equal opportunities between men and women. She will say yes and you say mines a pint, thanks

#2. I feel horribly awkward if someone insists on paying for everything. It would actually put me off doing things with someone if they wouldn't let me pay my way.

I'd always offer to pay for first drinks and a light bite

If the meet was to go on, I would gratefully accept it if the lady offered, but wouldn't expect her to offer

If it was plainly obvious I was expected to pay for everything, I'd probably ask if she wanted to contribute, just cos I'm a bit of a funny arse like that

I am generous, I am polite, but don't take me or my pockets for granted

Is this just meet based? If I was having a social, i would take it in turns. I wouldn't want to feel like I owed anyone something, if it was a fab meet.

That's my point exactly. Why should a man have to pay for it all? That's excepting that there's a difference between men and women. Apart from the obvious there shouldn't a difference. Of course it's tradition for the man to pay, that's all in the past. With all this talk about equal pay they can afford it as much as the men now

Best to pick a place with free refills and stay for 12 hours.

I don't drink so that'd be perfect. I'd definitely buy the first round in that case... that means the meals on her

Yeah, if it was non-Fab friends based I'd usually offer to pay and then a friend would pay next time

Even with a Fab friends meet though, I do like paying, but I wouldn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable with me doing so, so if they asked to pay something then I'd accept

That said, most of my socials have been daytime coffee shop meets

If I was goibg to meet someone who expected a meal out, wining, dining etc. then I'd probably approach the subject of payment before we even met

Certainly in the first instance

Does that make sense ?

If he pays entrance to the cinema I buy the munch.

Yes, completely . It can become expensive if someone expects the wine and dine experience. Though in all honesty, my ex partner used to pay a lot of the time, if we went somewhere expensive. I would pay for the cheaper outings, to try and feel like I was contributing. He was far more solvent than me, at the time. It did make me feel awkward sometimes. With fab, I stay within my financial means, so I can contribute

Makes me feel very uncomfortable if only one person pays.

I'd rather pay my way. I feel beholden other wise. Feel a like a transaction.

If I like the man, I let him pay.

If I’m unsure, or have changed my mind about him, I’ll offer or insist on paying for myself.

My first meet is a social one, so just a coffee or something which I'm more than happy to pay for. If I don't like him I don't feel so bad about not stating for another one!

I don't expect or want gifts and treats from the guys I meet on here.
