I posted a thread aaaaaages ago peoples names, wondering if someone’s name would put you off them.

I was quite new at the time, I didn’t get many responses, so I’m asking the same again

So, would someone’s name put you off meeting them?

Not really, it's just words. I'm sure they're not totally indicative of the person behind it. I'll give anyone a chance.

Not everybody comes up with the humourous or clever play on words name when they join up.

Personally couldnt care what the name was or is. It's completely irrelevant to me.

I’ve also slept with someone who has the same name as my brother. But I just called him ‘Sir’ the whole time

No I don't think a real name would put me off, a fab name might.

I might be reserved about a really unusual, hard to pronounce name if the owner of it kept on correcting me.

Think of the scene in Catastrophe where the Rob Delaney character is trying to say his daughter's Gaelic name. Tense. Wouldn't work for Fab fun.

Some names can invoke internal prejudices for sure! But then rational Dan realises that just because someone else with that name was a total cockwomble it doesn’t mean that all people with that name are!

It’s why I never tell people my real name! Imagine the conclusions people would leap to if they realised my real name was Adolf Savile?

Hate my first name. I have always used my middle name. My mum never liked my first name so refused to use it. Never understood why they didn't change them around to be honest ha

"I posted a thread aaaaaages ago peoples names, wondering if someone’s name would put you off them.

I was quite new at the time, I didn’t get many responses, so I’m asking the same again

So, would someone’s name put you off meeting them?

I generally avoid queens

I’ve never met anyone called Queens

Btw , the block is nothing personal , I think I did it before I saw you in the forums and I have so many on my block list I cant find you to unblock "

....I didn’t know you had me blocked, awkward

Who named you then? Your dad?

I know a family that all went by their middle names

There was a lesbian couple in the year above me at school both called Lauren. (Only one of them participated in the BlackBerry phone toilet carnage however) "

We met numerous times with someone with the same name as Vixen

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Those god awful names such as Bianca, Channel, chardonnay, Mercedes..

So named because the parents were either pissed on said drink or the child was conceived in that vehicle..

I'm surprised that Sambuca and mondeo aren't more popular as names...
