Thinking there's a clique on the forums...

...is a bit like staring at a hot tub full of chatting people and thinking they're excluding you

Just strip off and come in. The water's warm and some of the guys in here are full of hot air so lots of bubbles

But surely you’ve seen the posse coming to the defence of a wronged mate on here? Happens all the time!

It’s almost as if it can be coordinated via PM first some times ..

There’s definitely people that you talk to more often, but you’d get that in any setting. Some people you don’t mesh well with but you don’t have to get on with everyone at the end of the day

100% this^^^^^^^^^. Apart from the twat part ha. You just have to be thicked skined and not give a toss what others think. I do think at times certain people do make others not feel welcome and they know exactly what they're doing. But they mask it by saying oh am i not allowed an opinion etc. But when others jump in is what i don't like to see in any walk of life. Yes we all have fab friends,but that doesn't mean we have to make others feel like they shouldn't comment in a public community

I don't think there is a simple group , there are a number of tribes and sub tribes

And all manner of reasons for apparent symbiosis

There's a massive clique on the forums...always has been, careful what you say though as joking aside I've been barred for the smallest things.

It's mainly people who've never met each other in real life or met many other people as they are happiest at the keyboard, they will have in jokes, nicknames or references to each other as they all swarm a thread.

Usually be the first to pounce on threads that can be turned on the OP, try make op feel bad about what they've posted or ridicule them for asking a question at all, quite bullyish at times.

Those that think freely, show signs of humour or challenge the endless "kiss, fuck, donate a kidney" and "send a pointless pic to the person above" threads are quickly dealt with.

Few stand up to them, but not many.

That's actually a very fair question. All these folks who insist on there being cliques, but none of us know if we're the ones being accused... I'd like to know if anyone thinks I'm in a clique. No judgement... Just interested to know.

As my initial post said, people who think there's a clique are generally referring to anyone in the hot tub having fun. I'd guess that includes me and most of you lot. Even though all we're really doing is just chatting. People who bemoan a clique simply don't want to see so many of the same faces chatting. I think they imagine that if we all just shut up other voices will finally be heard and the whole thing won't just go dead. Go check out the forums on other swinging sites... tumble. I'm not so sure they're right about that.

I guess it's different perspectives but I stand by the post - having been here for getting on for three years now I've actually seen cycles of people coming and going - some that bounce off one another in what some will see as cliques, others will just see as friendships between people who have met etc - groups form, groups break up and new ones form - it's just a microcosm of life really.

I just carry on with posting when I have something vaguely relevant to say and really don't worry myself about whether there is or isn't a clique

I think there's no doubt that there are a bunch of people who've been on here for donkeys years and I'm guessing many have met each other at some point, some shagged, some successfully, some not. They might even consider this "their forum". But it isn't really ( You didn't hear it from me ).

Some of them can be less welcoming than others. But the whole point of the site is to find lovely people to fuck. So you'll often find even the old guard willing to say hi and welcome you in if they like the look of you.

I don't think this group makes up a large amount of the people who regularly post on here. And there appears to be a vibrant gossip scene of old hands who never post here at all. They just lurk and judge us between themselves. So you can't even claim the clique, if there really is such a thing, only exists on the forum.

I really don't think any of this is worth bothering about. Just ignore it and weigh in with your own opinion and sense of humour

I’m cliquey with some people because I like them, or am interested in talking to them, sometimes because I want to counter their opinion and discuss something. I ignore some people on purpose, because who has time/will to engage with people they don’t really like the read of, at other times I’ll challenge and contest them. I’ll miss people accidentally or due to the speed of posting, some threads I don’t really go in, sometimes I get really into a conversation but it then reads as if I’m purposefully excluding others, I’ll post more when I’ve time, and less when I’m busy or doing real life stuff. I will be interpreted by people who never once talk directly with me positively and negatively according to their own views not objective fact and then they’ll seek evidence to firm their narrative and it’s always possible to do that. Things unrelated will be read one way or another, people will gossip, others won’t give a shit. Sometimes it won’t faze me on others it can upset me greatly. I’m a multi faceted human.

There both is and isn’t a clique. Thing is we are both in some and not in the others.

It’s a forum, what do you expect?
