Escape the real world by putting a headset on and playing ps4.

I also play sport and once I cross that white line only what's happening within the white lines matter.

These I find for me give me the best relief.

I did see a doctor about it in Feb but I found that a waste.

I usually take a step back from the stress, get some fresh air, cool down and chill out for 5 minutes before going back at the task in hand.

Hope this helps if anybody's stressed

Depends what REAL stress is. Stress is fairly subjective. What stresses you might not stress me.

I like to knit or crochet and do things that completely envelope my mind.

Unless I'm angry stressed then I like to punch a punch bag in the gym.

If I'm crying stressed then I grab some comfort food and watch a film I know will make me cry.

Find Physical exercise works and not talking about the sexual kind.

Going for a jog or a walk. Also have a punchbag, find that helps a lot.

"Hey all, interested to know how you deal with (REAL) stress ... ?"

Depends on the stress and it’s causes.

Breathe properly. Eat, drink and sleep properly. Get plenty of fresh air and exercise. Talk about what’s worrying me. Music, mindfulness, dancing, hug a dog, draw/create something as distraction. Set small steps for tackling the root cause. Assess if it is something in or not in my control to resolve. Assess if it is stress within healthy or unhealthy ranges or if it’s a mental health wobble and if I need to take more corrective actions, and seek more expert advice/input.

Exercise for me too, especially outdoors. I try to concentrate on the colours, sights and smells around me, my breath, the sensation of my muscles stretching and moving.

Also cranking the tunes right up and dancing about the house like a complete fanny.

Develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan(c) and review things like the New Economic Foundation (NEF)’s Five Ways to Wellbeing. Keep checking I’m doing things that I know work for me to stay healthy, and as you are here, ask for tips from others, try them out and add them to my tools/resources if they work for me.

There’s some good apps like Headspace, and many more, out there too.

A damn good filthy sex session.

Failing that trying to take a little time out for myself. Listen to some music and try switching off. Meet up or chat to a friend and have a good chat and lots of laughter. Give my kids a huge hug helps too sometimes unless they are the ones causing my stress.

Sometimes though it can all get to much and I end up shouting at those closest to me, which I know I shouldn't do. I then usually have a damn good cry, then pick myself up and carry on.

Chocolate helps too.

It's finding a coping mechanism that works for you.

Physically!

If I need to think, then a long walk over The Downs with my wee doggo.

If I'm angry & need to let off steam, then the gym.

Either hard cardio or a heavy weight session.

I understand what you mean.

Trouble is at the moment I have at least three HUGE things going on that are exceptionally stressful and at this moment in time I have no control over any of them.

Hopefully it will change soon and it won't be an issue then... It's the having no control that stresses me more than the actual events I think (but I could be wrong, things do get cloudy when your head is screwed with stresses)

Flip that round.

These things are out of your control.

That tells me you can't do anything about them no matter how hard you try to effect the outcomes.

That energy could be put to better use. Easy for me to say as I'm almost horizontal (very laid back).

Try and give yourself an escape from life doing whatever it is you love doing.

Perhaps a class like HIIT. I’ve had time off work in the past due to stress and I get what you mean about a jog or walk allowing your mind to still wonder. A gym class is great as it’s structured and full packed for the hour and it really helped me regain some focus. Also writing lists of things you need to do, all the busy stuff is better out onto paper.

Take care x

I was going to offer some flippant answer about wanking saving my life but as it’s a bit more serious I find hard strenuous labour helps as it takes the physical part of stress away and by losing yourself in a non communicative task its like white noise and let’s me think less. Digging the garden, knocking down walls, sanding timber, anything like that. I also meditate afterwards when I am knackered!

I accept the things I can't change. There may be some things happening that no one can do anything about. Taking that on board, helps me focus my energy more effectively.

This wouldn’t be for everyone, but a really good sex session can take my mind away from my stress. The endorphins afterwards relax me and help me focus on what’s causing stress in a more objective way. I’ve found that with just a good spanking session as well.

No one really knows what real stress is.

It’s only during or after the event that you realise where you are in telsyion to the big picture.

Deal with each part in turn. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to deal with each part.

Then look back.

Long walks on the beach help. Meaningless sex with a really hunky well hung Adonis like bladey, might help but there just mere distractions - but they help in there own way.

Best of luck.

The trick is to know how to forget.... If something that has stressed you out is no longer an issue. Just forget about it and move on. Don't matter now it's in the past sort of thing.

If the issue of the stress is ongoing... debts.. work.. etc etc. Work is an easy one. Get a new job!! Debts... prioritise. Which debts are the most likely to have people knocking your door 1st. You will never go to jail for debts. Unless it's the government you owe!! Just try not too worry. You're still alive and free. Enjoy the future instead of worrying about the past. The past shouldn't effect your future.

I just say 'fuck it' to most things. 'Whatever don't mean shit too me!!'

I try to sit down and think of the situation that's stressing me and work out what will happen at the other side and how I will feel. If it's positive then I focus on that. If it's not i think about the people who need me to keep it together and how my reaction will affect them.

Can you take something like Kalms? I was having a really rough time recently and they helped me calm down. Just check if you're ok to take them if you're on any other medication.

Hope your stress gets sorted soon OP. xx

"Extract yourself from the stressful situation

If it was that easy we'd all do it.

I did. I walked out of a marriage. I've walked out of jobs. I've walked away from other toxic relationships"

I do the same. If something isn't making you happy. Walk away. It don't matter! Surly life is about being happy. Not staying around things that are making you miserable.

I've left furnished flats, jobs and just moved away. Possessions don't mean anything too me. I'm a minimalist. Took me a long time to realise that the less I got the happier I am. I got a place and furnished now and a job. I'm giving it all up next year to go backpacking. I don't have kids etc so it's easy for me to do. But I understand the stresses of life. Having kids has got to be the most stressful thing anyone can do. If you're a parent and still have all your hair then any other stress you face is nothing compared!!!

I've tried to settle down and couldn't. I've suffered from depression and made life choices to be off the grid! Live outside normality. Suits me as I ain't normal!

Well said. That's the thing.. positivity! It's a downward slop when you start thinking negatively. Hard to get out of

Hefty Hideaway

I send a bitch signal. My bitches know to feed me, make cocktails and let me vent. Then invariably they find a solution or give me all the hugs and hair stroking I need.

This is why I have a love for Ds play. Having someone help you get into a sub zone that you let them control your worries and aniexty's for an period of time is a amazing feeling.

Then knowing that person will give you after care, for me nothing deals with my stress so well.

Otherwise taking to family, friends a bit of pampering R&R and most importantly find out if there is a way to reduce that stress, tackle what's causing it in the first place

"Hey all, interested to know how you deal with (REAL) stress ... ?"

I play a sport called airsoft

Usually takes my stress away! If that doesn't work I go for a 20-25mile cycle with music

I am working on this, but as there are three (possibly four) HUGE things going on at the moment (it's been a hell of a year ) it's a bit uphill...

Luckily I have met some great people thru here who have helped me to some degree ... Even if only to give me some great, stress free sex

Horsham

I used to find getting out on the bike or motorbike helped me deal with stress, I found exercise a good way to deal with it.

As for the motorbike I found I could relax a lot, just by getting out for half an hour.

Just around the corner

I joined the Army Reserve and blow the living sh*t out of stuff with a machine gun every few months. Works a treat.

I wanted to join the RAF and passed the exams ... Then broke my neck ... So that went down the pan ... Wanted to then go for the RAF reserves and other health issues mean I can't.

No wonder life frustrates the fuck out of me sometimes
