Haven’t read the story but in generic terms anyone falsely accusing anyone else of such a horrendous crime deserves the punishment! That can totally destroy a man’s life.

R^pe itself is one of the most horrific crimes there is and the full force of the law should come down on anyone perpetrating that offence, and all must be done to give victims (Male and female) all the support and confidence to come forward and report it, but likewise false allegations should also be subject to the full force of law too!

Mud sticks, and even if proved to be false, such allegations can still taint a person forever.

I haven’t read the article and if she genuinely did make up the allegations then she deserves to have the book thrown at her. But my concern is that that the vast majority of cases of sexual violence are actual and I hope this doesn’t prevent real victims from coming forward.

Hiding in the shadows

Any person, male or female, that falsely accuses another of r*pe should be treated as a criminal & prosecuted fully.

I know from personal experience how devastating it can be.

One of my sons was accused of sexual assault. We had the police turn up on his birthday, just as about to leave for his party.

He was put through 6mths of hell, excluded from school, every club he was involved with staff were interviewed about his conduct, his siblings treated as outcasts & shunned by friends they'd known all their lives.

One of my other sons who is disabled was beaten up by a gang of boys, stones & bottles thrown at our car as we went out, our home & my car vandalised repeatedly overnight.

Then one day, a call to say the investigation was over & charges dropped.

That was it.

No apology, no explanation.

We eventually found out a teacher had heard the girl & her friends laughing about it in the changing rooms adter a PE lesson & reported it.

My son was later diagnosed with PTSD.

The girls were never charged with anything, just given a caution.

My son still lives with mental issues they caused him.

18 months for what she put the guy through isn't long enough at all both rapists and people who falsely accuse should serve a minimum of 10 years.
