I missed the last thread before it closed, but can I just say I never post on the BBW or curvy threads as obviously they do not include me. so I don't post. Quite simple really.

However, what I do object to are the words used to describe us ladies of the slim body type.

Why do people call us thin? I am not thin, I am well nourished, I am within my BMI, I am in my 40's and have squidgy bits I don't like but hey it comes with age! I haven't put on weight it has just spread out a bit.

So please in any future threads you want to start, about BBW or comparing BBW against 'slim' please think about the words you use and no I am not of the snowflake generation just be mindful of the words you use, because most are derogatory because you are trying to worm your way into someone's knickers!

Lets not pretend we are being stupid with this lol we are not thick in trying to curry favour, so don't make an arse out of yourself

Just a hint of course, but it is all down to you...….

Slough Windsor ish

I'm fat...

I make no excuses for it.

Don't ever describe me as a BBW though.... I'm not that far up my own fat ass or American. I steer away from the BBW threads because I find them patronising and full of the kind of men I'm not terribly attracted to.

I get what you are saying regards slimmer ladies though, absolutely. Skinny and thin implies you are under fed or all bones, not a nice description at all.

Why can't we just be women? Do we need further labels?

It had to be said, as I hate being called thin, or 'only a dog likes bones' think your word's through before you type and send them!

Sometimes words can cut deep, so please just think before hitting the send button!

You may have your own preference but please be mindful on how you explain it, don't put down the type of person you don't like it doesn't help anyone

I’m fat in places and slim in others. Even when I was a size 10 I had a tummy. I have good points and not so. But I think if you are good at grooming and looking after yourself regardless of size that goes along way.

I’ve seen beautifully dressed and polished woman at size 16+ that carry themselves confidently and size 8 woman that are a little rough and vice versa. I say good hair nails shoes makeup and a pretty face, and overall polished appearance comes into play rather than just being FAT or SLIM.

That’s my rant over

I wear a size 6 (Next sizes) but I am still sqishy as you put it! That is why I hate body types, I am either put on a pedestal by guys saying you have a great body, it just puts me off to be honest or obsessed by what I actually look like, that I might just become slightly paranoid, which is not a good feeling to have either, it's all these pigeon boxes men want to put us in, it really doesn't help, just my view of course

I understand what you’re saying but a name doesn’t describe you, eg if I committed a crime and the police were questioning a witness about what build I was, they wouldn’t say he looked like a Dan. They’d say I looked fat!

Yup. Same gets levelled at me. "More meat on a racing snake" has been said my way by a larger fella. Not so long ago I got asked if I ate enough too. Which is amusing as anyone that knows me will tell you I eat enough for two people most days!

As a child my older sisters used to take the piss out of me because I was skinny (I'm talking skinny skinny not slim or a squishy in places). When I got in the bath they would tell me to make sure I got out of the bath before I pulled the plug out, in case I went down the plug hole (just writing that made me laugh). My dad used to call me tin ribs and my mum moaned about my bony bum on her knees when I sat on her lap.

When I put on 9st my husband would call me a fat doughnut eating cunt (laughing again).

None of their words ever affected me, I didn't even flinch.

Sticks and stones.

I’ve been on the same receiving end of mental abuse! Oh your too skinny! Or your wasting away!! Then on the other scale my ex would call me all kinds (can’t even bring myself to write them) but as he said “ he never signed up for a fat bird” sticks and stones etc but words will ALWAYS hurt me more! That saying is daft in my eyes. I can take a dig, or kick but the words lay deeper

Well I consider myself an intellectual and I think people's choice of words give away a lot about them and their perceptions, so it's fine for people to say whatever they choose Because all it does in my eyes is allows you to get a reasonable read on them before they are able to try and portray themselves as someone else. See a few words of every sentence people come out with are subconsciously filled by your mind. Therefore you can get a reasonable idea of their nature from that subconsciousness. Personally I'd use the word petite, that's a nice word which sounds lovely.

I do understand what you are saying OP. Some terminology used to describe a person can be hurtful sometimes. I used to get offended when I'd see size threads and people would come on to 'white knight' as you call It and shame those of the opposite shape spectrum, but some would also come on to shame the shape that was being appreciated. Unfortunately, this being an open forum, it will always happen and we can't control how people behave or comment (within site rules). I just avoid said threads or let it go over my head. It's really not worth getting offended over. They are just words on a screen to me now. I focus on the threads I want to interact on and don't worry about those I don't, or may aggravate me. The only thing we can control is our reactions to certain remarks. I do love the sentiment though, despite believing it will fall on deaf years of those guilty of this.

Well the issue is size can be deceiving, some women have a small waist but a large bum so it's more so about the height and figure in my opinion. The previous comment was more so an example as I cannot make such a personal statement without seeing you. But essentially I mean there are much nicer words to use should you give it a little thought.

"Well I consider myself an intellectual and I think people's choice of words give away a lot about them and their perceptions, so it's fine for people to say whatever they choose Because all it does in my eyes is allows you to get a reasonable read on them before they are able to try and portray themselves as someone else. See a few words of every sentence people come out with are subconsciously filled by your mind. Therefore you can get a reasonable idea of their nature from that subconsciousness. Personally I'd use the word petite, that's a nice word which sounds lovely.

sounds petite to me ..

Not for my size!! I’m very overweight

It's about being lazy and self respect taught. If you're fat and you start with the excuse of I have gland issues ok but if not, you're just fat lazy and don't care about yourself, you eat chips with bread and you expect a big black vegetarian cock, fkin hell get a high res printer, and Start to respect yourself. If you're fat and you like it then that's it, you found your recipe, anything else is just bulshiting around some subjects. What I hate for real is fat lazy cunts and wannabees, and they're plenty, milions.

Read every post with interest, I don’t know if it’s not all down to the world we inhabit that media , social written and visual, have no place for imperfection and everyone , males included, (though not nearly the amount that ladies do,)constantly patronise and shame people outside the “spectrum of so called desirability “

Only having returned to Fab from a long hiatus, it seems , corrrect me if am wrong, a different Fab , more judgemental, Profike pictures may catch my eye , it was difficult to begin with , but I fully read a profile before looking at that persons gallery ,if I don’t wasn’t in that persons head , I don’t want in they’re bed ,

And OP ?.......you and every lady commenting are right , drop the labels and raise the standards

Changing tag to Dominsomniac.... what yiu think lol

Be Safe

At last a sensible thread! I've been tall and skinny ... tall and slim ... tall and curvy now but still slimish all my life and whilst abuse has always been there (exactly the same for extreme shapes either end of the scale tbh) I have never seen it so rife as on fab! And the slim bashing is totally incredible!! Whilst most in the forums consider themselves amazingly tolerant and open minded people it's just gobsmacking at the open abuse of really anyone!!

Well put OP

it is quite a strange phenomenon for sure, you'd think given we all have some form of insecurity or something we would change that all having ourselves on display would level it out a little. I think a lot of people's views come from whether they see certain people or groups of people as attainable. More often than not it becomes apparent if someone's slating one somatotype its following rejection from someone belonging to said somatotype.

He won’t. I’ve been on both ends of over eating and under eating. I work in mental health and hate any type of body bashing. I hated being slim. I hated being overweight. I struggle basically being ME. But I understand and can manage. Lots of people can’t understand or relate. Social media and domestic abuse plays a huge part in mental abuse or health.

What I have found is it tends to be simple jealousy sometimes and sometimes not backed up by a person's insecurities and/or inferiorities ... we live in a world that loves labels and complications

Also people in their most basic form have not evolved from their basic distrust of anything that is different and survival of the fittest! And let's face the 'skinnies' would die first and everyone else regardless of labels would become much skinnier

"At last a sensible thread!

Face Palm. “Skinnies”. Seriously??

Oh yes lol in a survival moment of dire need unfortunately the first to go!! Hahahahahahaha... we're doomed!!

I don't post on bbw threads as I do find the pseudo celebration of fat women to the detriment of other women annoying. You can express your preference without being derogatory to women outside your preference.

That said I don't get precious if someone decribes me as fat as that's what I am, conversely I wouldn't be upset if I were slim and someone called me thin.

Fatso and skinny minnie etc I would take exception to as they are derogatory.

Again that said, I'm the wrong side of 50, see my doctors more times than I see my friends. Do I have time left to be offended at every little thing? No! I truly envy those with time to waste on trivialities.

"I'm fat...

Do we need further labels?"

Thanks for writing what I haven't really got time to - absolutely agree and I'm fat too (NOT a BBW ... Hideous phrase IMHO and stated on my profile ) x

Same can be said about stating preferences to natural boobs vs enhanced. You can state your preference towards natural without having to say unnecessarily nasty things about enhanced breasts. I've had everything from two Velcro lads with tennis balls stuck on to my favourite one, not being a real woman because I have implants. That one is the worst because it's like I have a womb, I carried a life inside me for 9 months and gave birth and breastfed even though I have implants because they're still fully functioning working breasts.

Does my head in.

It’s basically describing a man that comes galloping in in his shining armour to ‘rescue’s woman on the thread with words of comfort and support. They can be easily confused with just nice people.

Trust me: there's no confusion.

White knights tend to trowel on the Sir Galihad act by putting down others ie on bbw threads if someone says the dreaded "fat" they arrive atop their trusty stead to save the fat...I mean curvy, sexy, real women from their bag of bones nemesis!

Labels, schmabels. We have labels for sexuality, gender, skin colour, age brackets, body type, height... Where do you draw the line? I get people not wanting to be pigeonholed, I'm not a huge fan of them myself, but sometimes, we have preferences, so needs must.
