Weirdos or not?

You send a polite message to someone as simple as male to female within the age range. They read the message and delete it ok, but if they read it and block you....

Is that person a weirdo or are they just plain stupid and rude? Sorry, but I can't think of any other applicable terminology.

It means they aren’t interested in you and want to save both you and them time by making sure that they don’t show up in future searches and won’t receive any further contact from you

Maybe some people don't like the idea of someone they are not attracted to being able to look at their profile a will when they know from the message the other person is attracted to them.

They are cutting down their pool of choices, it means they aren't interested, they aren't being rude.

this is correct. it saves getting abuse form someone because you said no thank you.

ive had it, im sure we all have.

We do it and have no problem with people using it if we are not what they are looking for.

Cuts out the faff really.

I'd rather people did that if they're not interested, saves everyone time in that you don't get further messages from them , they don't show up in searches etc. If you worry about how others run their profile you'll go mad on here OP.

Yup, it's just practical. I don't do it myself, but the same guys will approach me again and again.

Don't take it personal, it means you aren't what they are looking for.

I try to reply to all mail and then block. It's no different, they're still not going to meet me.

It might be rude in your opinion but the person you sent a message to doesn’t know if you’re a decent guy or an abusive one, so the easiest thing to do is delete it.

You start replying with “no thanks” and the abuse comes in, these people deleting messages they’re not interested and blocking are stopping that from happening.

Everyone uses Fab how it suits them best. You just have to adjust and realise not everyone is going to use it the way you do.

They don't want to come across you again. So to block is the easiest way. Harsh but it is what it is mate

I say thanks but no thanks to a lot of messages.

It's annoying when the same person contacts you again later down the line, sometimes again and again.

I can see why some people just block. Saves messing about.

So many guys get a polite "No thanks" and then three weeks later send another message as if they have no recollection of the previous exchange. That's one reason I block even if someone's done nothing wrong.

Also blocking someone removes them from search results, so it helps avoid scrolling through loads of profiles you've already looked at/swapped messages with.

But people have told you why they don't just delete - to stop abuse, to stop more messages from the same person in future and to stop people they're not interested in appearing in searches and on the timeline. Plus you never know, maybe they know you and are worried you might recognise them!

Saves you coming up in their searches etc... and them in yours. Aswell as no more contact if you forget you had messaged before. Oohh and it means no crappy message about them deleting your original one too. Hope that helps? See, not weird or rude

I use the block button if we get a careless opening communication 'hi, you ok?' etc, or if conversation is turning into a spiral of diminishing word count replies, phrases like 'we'd love to chat...' and then nothing further, we just give up on. If someone has found us and wants to chat, go ahead! Chat!

Stopped playing kiss chase in the playground, so yes, the block button is my friend.
